It's done very nicely and the environment feels welcoming. Very short walk from the Tracopa bus station. The kitchen is well-equipped and tidy. The hostel was like a treat after a long trip from Panama. I also had a dorm for myself for that night so I rested a lot. Thank you!

The colonial-style Costa Rica Guesthouse offers a green tropical garden and patio with complimentary Wi-Fi, Co-Work space and two private parking. Highly recommend this hostel. Spacious dormitory. Got lucky enough to have the 6-bed room for myself for 2 nights. Sparkling clean shared bedroom and shared bathroom. Nice staff.

Offering a casino, gym and free WiFi zone, this modern Sleep Inn Hotel Paseo Las Damas is situated opposite España Park and the Modern Art Museum. Excellent and very friendly staff, clean rooms, great location for the museums tours we wanted. Nearly all staff spoke English even though I can speak poor Spanish. Rooms were very quiet from the city noise. Had parking which was important for us. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety of food although I would have liked an omelet bar. All in all a great value and close to many things that we wanted. We requested an extended check-out that was granted, (although it turned out that it was not needed after all), We were also able to check-in early which was very nice. We would recommend this hotel and will stay again when we have visitors that want to visit San Jose.

It's a good hotel, not luxurious, but it's comfortable. The staff is very nice, the breakfast is good, and the room we stayed in was comfortable and has nice big windows. A great place to stay for a very good price!

The owner was helpful. The first night our room was a little tight for 5 so they moved us to a bigger room which was much appreciated. This is like an upscale hostel but it was fantastic. We felt right at home. You cannot beaten the price. Thumbs up.

I was very surprised! It's a large, neat colonial house (bungalow style). All rooms are private with bathroom and arranged around a very lush courtyard. It's spacious and well-kept, fully a equipped kitchen and a Peri grocery store at the corner. Lots of couches and books to read. The host doesn't live on site but is super friendly and responsive. There's a bus stop at the corner with plenty of busses bringing you to the center. Overall, it's the comfort of a hotel with the convenience of a hostel.
