Luggage storage for my time in the Galapagos (just a dollar a day - after one week free!), as well as proximity to the airport and bus terminal, were great bonuses. The neighborhood seems safe and family oriented, with grocers and other amenities nearby. Overall Guayaquil is much more laid-back than folks in other parts of Ecuador make it out to be. I really appreciated Michael's delicious, affordable vegan restaurant next door - not easy to find in Guayaquil, or anywhere in Ecuador!
