Maison Seraphine is just far enough away not to hear the noise. Pierre is an excellent host Breakfast was great, with fresh fruit and you could squeeze your own fresh orange juice; Pierre even produced scrambled egg. The house is old and quaint but our room was comfortable and spacious with a good walk in shower. There does not seem to be a problem with parking right outside. We came by train. Take a #4 bus from the station and get off at St Martin, only 1.20 euro. Laon is well worth the visit with relatively few tourists. The cathedral is magnificent, must be one of the finest in France. Some good restaurants and if you want a lighter meal, try a platter from the Fromagerie des Remparts.

Amazing house where the first floor is for guests. The room I stayed in was extremely comfortable with working aircon. There are blackout blinds on the roof windows as well as curtains for the bedroom window. The location is very quiet and so is the atmosphere in the house. Hosts are very friendly and even in my Frenglish we managed to communicate. Tasty french bread fresh from the bakery was also provided for morning breakfast - excellent!!
