Such a lovely location, minutes from the town centre yet feels miles away, peaceful and quiet. An amazing breakfast, good quality food, and a clear amount of effort. I grew up around here, so know the area but this was a fantastic base to do some exploring. Good room, clean and comfortable.

We arrived by train, and realized Ferintosh is directly across the road from the station, in a row of stately Victorian red sandstone elegant homes. Such a joy! Our host Robertson was waiting for us, answering the door and chatting amiably with us in the lovely entry hall. He carried our luggage up the stairs, and we settled in our cozy room. Town is an easy 10 minute walk, and has all the medieval- to- Victorian architectural charm we hoped for, plus two old bridges over the River Nith. Must not forget all the Robert Burns sites, the wonderful museum in a former windmill, junk shops, chip shops, stairs and river walk. Lovely town Breakfast is cooked and served by "himself" and is very good. Robertson has a generous supply of information and maps, plus dog treats and towels, and brownies to borrow. We sat in the front garden after a full day, drinking tea. Completely satisfying.

The shower was very good. We ordered pizza in and we could use the breakfast room to have our diner. The plates were set for us. That was very lovely. We had a good night sleep. The breakfast was also very good. We had a very nice conversation with the owners which made us feel very welcome.
