The Avenue is perfectly located 3 mins walk from the delightful town centre of Bakewell with a good selection of bars and restaurants and local bus services very close by.The property was spotlessly clean and very warm and welcoming and very quiet at nights despite being situated on the A6.Sarah the proprietor was an excellent and helpful host and provided a lovely breakfast of delicious locally sourced ingredients and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again !.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in was easy and staff actually took us to our room. There are only 5 rooms and nobody was noisy. The pub has excellent food and many people who were eating at dogs which were all well behaved. The bathrooms are remodeled, and breakfast is brought to your room. Good parking behind the Bull's Head.

This family run guest house helped us feel at home when we most needed to feel comfortable. No one likes getting sick while on vacation, but our son managed to catch a very bad bug and needed medical attention. That's when Deborah, the host, helped us. She gave us information about British system, and was flexible about some of the breakfast issues (son wouldn't eat, etc). She's very gracious! As for the property, our room was spacious, with two sitting chairs overlooking the streets below. Our room (a triple) had a fridge ) Because we had to stay in, it turned out to be a great place to relax while my son slept (unlike some cramped rooms). If weather is nasty, I can imagine people wanted to stay in, have tea, and read. Overall, it's great to see that local, family guest houses still exist. And ones like this one, managed by Deborah, are a wonderful place to stay.

The hosts were very helpful and welcoming. It is obvious they love hosting and think of all the details to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful with large portions!

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and a great place for staying with a dog. The breakfasts were lovely, nicely cooked and we all enjoyed an evening meal. I am coeliac but I had plenty of choice including a lovely homemade gluten free lasagna and chips, cooked in a separate fryer, a real treat! (We actually stayed for three nights, not one as it says on my review form).

Located in Buxton, 400 metres from Buxton Opera House, Roseleigh faces the Pavilion Gardens and lake and offers free WiFi. Clean and comfortable, very nice staff. Was repeat stay for me. Highly recommended.
