Cempaka was a really nice experience for us. It is situated slightly north of the busy center of Ubud, making it a great base for sightseeing. The room was stylish & cozy, and the view on the swimming pool was nice. The swimming pool itself was lovely too! A great place to come back to after a day trip or activity in Ubud center. The laundry service exceeded all expectations and the driver they recommended was really nice as well. We asked a lot of questions and learnt a lot during the drive. Pak Kadek was a splendid host. He was very considerate and helpful with all the questions we had. We had the luck that a special ceremony was taking place in the nearby temple while we were there. Pak Kadek brought us along and guided us through the experience and Ibu Niwayan made sure we dressed respectable & traditional. We feel very lucky and grateful for that experience and their hospitality. This place is definitely recommended! Lastly: ask accommodations and drivers directly instead of through platforms if you can. A driver can recommend an accommodation and vice versa. It makes a big difference for them and their community.

While the city centre of Ubud is bustling with tourists and scooters, this guest house is perfectly isolated yet close to everything. The garden next to the rooms is charming and was always a delight to step into. Coming to the host, and saying this as someone who has traveled to more than 30 countries now, I found their service exceptional. It’s probably not in the same sense as you would rate the service in a hotel, but what you would expect from friends or family. One such example of this was that we had mentioned mosquitoes, and every day we would come back after a day of traveling to see a perfectly made-up room with small flowers on the bed, but also that they had sprayed so that the room was free of mosquitoes before we arrived. They helped us with everything we needed, be it an umbrella, some bookings, or tea/coffee anytime. I’ll definitely go back to this place when I visit Ubud. The host and their family were a good way for us to get some real conversation and insight into life for people of Ubud, which you don’t get as honestly in your conversations with shops, restaurants, or tour guides.

The host Dewa responds very quickly and is very accommodating to any requests. The rooms are beautiful, just as the picture shows. It is extremely clean & modern with Balinese decor. And I could not have asked for a better location. The entire staff here is so kind and welcoming & happy to help. The area is safe and secure. It is such a wonderful place, I decided to extend my stay here. I highly recommend.

The guest house is conveniently located close to many attractions in Ubud (the Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace, Art Museum, Water Temple, Art market, etc). There are many cafes, restaurants and supermarkets at a walking distance. The room i was staying at was clean and comfortable, and I had a wonderful view from the terrace. The host Adi is an amazing person who made sure my stay was pleasant. Every morning, I had a cooked breakfast that was truly delicious! Also, I loved the garden with beautiful plants and Balinese sculptures.

The accommodation was excellent—clean, comfortable, and equipped with a well-stocked kitchen and fridge, perfect for preparing meals. Tulus was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay, making everything smooth and enjoyable. The rented motorcycle was also in great condition and added a lot of convenience to our trip. The location is about 15-20 minutes from Ubud Centre, but getting around with Grab or your own scooter is super easy. Would definitely stay here again!

The family is exceptionally warm and welcoming. The breakfast each morning was splendid. Will be coming and staying again next time. The walk that people mention isn’t actually that far and is great because it keeps all the busy motorbike traffic away from the room, keeping it calm and peaceful. The grounds are gorgeous and feel’s like a sanctuary from the busy town.

Desy is a wonderful manager. The room was great and the guest house facilities were exceptional. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was delicious. Desy also arranged for a driver to take me on tours. The price for all of this was very good. Desy also arranged for a taxi to pick me up from the airport and take me back to the airport.

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and it was amazing! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and taken care of. They were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout entire stay. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, offering the perfect blend of comfort and style. The hotel’s location is fantastic—just a short walk to the city center, making it easy to explore the area. One of the highlights was the breakfast. It offered a wide variety of delicious options, catering to every taste. Plus, the 24/7 availability of the pool was a real treat, allowing to unwind at any time of day or night.
