This was our best stay during a short trip in southwest Ireland. Comfortable, quiet, conveniently located for our needs, with a large, comfortable bed, a very nice shower (we like it powerful), and an excellent breakfast, including great homemade elements. The decently stocked honesty bar was also a nice touch for the nights outside of town. But the element that made it outstanding were the hosts, who really made every effort to adapt to our needs, e.g., some complicated food limitations for breakfast. We have traveled quite a bit in our life and have found many nice hosts in different places, but Corthna Lodge really stuck out positively. If we come back in the area we will surely try to book there again. We also loved the big and very nice garden and the cute and gentle dogs when they were out.

Our room & the property were wonderful. Anne & Mary are the sweetest, lovely people, warm & welcoming! We also met the owner & his sweet dog. The breakfasts were truly scrumptious with the french press pots of coffee. But, there is something more than that. I can't quite put my finger on it. Something old world....and ethereal..Nevertheless, I highly recommend staying here - they are down to earth and make you feel like family.
