The ideal location for photographing the aurora! Mirror like water in foreground, mountains in background, and clear 180 degree view of the sky. Got amazing photos right from their backyard. We will be back. Highly recommended.

Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. We had privacy but were easily able to access everything we wanted to experience. The views were incredible and we saw the Northern Lights from the deck!

Set on a farm 8 km from Grundarfjördur, this modern guest house offers a 9-hole golf course, plus free Wi-Fi and parking. Snæfellsjökull National Park is 40 minutes’ drive away. The breakfast was really nice with beautiful view of Kirkjufell. Loved the mugs! 😍 And extra credit goes to the friendly staff. We forgot our backpack but the host found it, and delivered it to us in Reyjkjavik. That is really something above and beyond any expectations.

The room was very spacious, the beds extremely comfortable! We only stayed for one night but we really enjoyed it! The staff was very helpful and ready to answer all the questions:) kitchen was well equipped, even with filtered coffee and all kinds of dry food left by other travelers. The area was peaceful with beautiful roads around and views. We'll definitely return there! Thank you!
