Self check-in with no interaction with the host. Very clean rooms, kitchen and common space. Also a two shower rooms are available which was a nice detail considering the fact that it was a shared bathroom.

Set on a traditional Icelandic farm, Setberg Guesthouse is located outside of Höfn, a 14-minute drive from the seaside village centre. Absolutely amazing. Beautiful new renovated rooms. Large spaces, shared 2 bathrooms and kitchen. Use of toiletries and kitchen facilities. Accommodation at the foot of the mountains where the views and tranquility are beautiful. Lovely friendly dog as well as his owners. So far the best accommodation we have been to in Iceland. Thank you very much and hopefully sometime again.

The bed and pillows were comfortable - truly important on a long trip. Room and shower were warm enough. It was in a perfect location - close to many restaurants. The pantry was well-equipped with free-flow cereal! The full-height windows were great for us to admire the scenery when it started snowing.

Vagnsstadir Guesthouse offers accommodation in Borgarhöfn. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property. The guesthouse has pet horses living on site. Jökulsárlón is just a 20-minute drive away. Neat, clean, well maintained. Easy check-in. Would’ve been a great place to view the northern lights if not for bad weather. Zero draft and well insulated. The place is neat and clean. Absolutely loved staying here.

Located at the foot of Vatnajökull National Park, Lilja Guesthouse offers accommodation along Ring Road 1 in Flatey. Höfn is 28.5 km away from the property and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is 51 km... We got the spectacular mountain view room so we could clearly see the glacier outlets. Great location for chasing the northern lights because the surroundings are farms with not much light. The food is nice. We had the signature local langoustine soup and vanilla ice cream for dinner and they were splendid. Rankes among my most favourite dishes in Iceland so far. The room is well equipped and comfortable. Good selection for breakfast.

Housed in a former pharmacy building, Apotek Guesthouse offers accommodation in Höfn. This guest house has a shared kitchen and free WiFi. Free private parking is also available on site. Our room was large and comfortable, even had a couple of chairs and an ottoman! Most of our rooms in Iceland were so small so having the opportunity to spread a bit was a very happy surprise. I got a message a few days in advance with some instructions. My key would be at the front desk with my name and they informed me they had complimentary coffee, tea, yogurt and cereals in the morning. In the message they also apologized for not offering breakfast. I was like What?! Where I come from some hotels call cereal and yogurt breakfast and charge you for it. I would have been happy with coffee alone lol! Anyway, I read somewhere they had laundry facilities available, so I was banking on doing some laundry there. When I asked where I could do my laundry and if there was an extra charge, they were a bit confused but immediately showed me to the hotel's laundry room and let me use it!! This was very nice of them. Lastly, they have the cutest garden, looks like your grandma's place.
