This hotel is plonked in the corner of a car park 3 minutes walk from a terminal at the slightly seedy looking Catania Airport. By most reckoning, it should be just a place to dive into to escape the hassle of travel and get some shut eye for a few hours, yet it is the exact opposite. It's chic and has been exquisitely finished. The staff in our one night stay, one after another, outdid each other in welcoming and looking after us, I.e. Fabrizio, Antonio and Davido, I hope I spelt those names correctly. The view from my room was of a car park, but Mount Etna was smoking away behind it. I lay in bed and watched it for an hour. On the other side was the runway. I sat in a bench on the morning and watched planes take off and land.for another hour, it was very pleasant. The soundproofing was excellent, by the way.
