I even got lucky and hitched a ride back to Nakatsugawa, with a perfect pitstop at Hillbilly Coffee (highly recommend). I stayed here after walking Nakasendo Trail from Tsumago. My friends and I used the common area often as it was filled with natural light and windows across the entire span of the room. The sunrise and sunset were beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay!

Translation app overcame that barrier. A stocked fridge and comprehensive facilities made my stay very enjoyable. I was able to cook a simple meal, and do some laundry without having to leave the guesthouse in the heavy snow! The cherry on top was the owner driving me to the dinosaur museum in the morning. Very unexpected but much appreciated.
