馬籠ふるさと学校 Magome Furusato Gakkou ligger i Nakatsugawa, mindre end 1 km fra Toson Memorial Museum, og har en have, et fælles opholdsområde og en terrasse samt gratis privat parkering. Rigtig god beliggenhed. Hyggelig bygning med en tidligere skole, rent og pænt overalt. De har det mest fantastiske personale, som gjorde alt for at gøre alting nemt og behageligt for os. Stedet har en skøn backpacker-vibe på den gode måde. Vi elskede at være her, og vil gerne tilbage en dag!

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Cozy and warm place to stay. Has a good meeting place and wifi speed was great. The staff was very friendly.

峠のお宿 巧の実家 Magome Guest House, Along the Nakasendo Trail ligger i Magome-distriktet i Nakatsugawa, tæt på Magome Observatory. Her er en terrasse og vaskemaskine. When we arrived at the gare station a man (the son of the family) welcomed us warmly. He kindly drove us to a supermarket to buy some useful items (food, etc) for our staying and he would already send to our airbnb. Then he dropped us at the beginning of Magome path to be able to enjoy the walk to the house. When we arrived to the house, the mother and son showed us the house with all the explanations of use. They gently asked us which kind of restaurant we would have liked to go dinner. We were surprised the price of our stay included all the car transport. The family host was alaways available if we had an emergency. We were never in no need, food and drinks were full in the kitchen. We enjoyed the house to the fullest: comfortable beds, nice bathroom, the landscape was peaceful. All the rooms of this house were well presented with all the accomodations. The living room with the tatami mats was incredible with many toys, books. The decoration is authentic. There is a smoking area aoutside with an ashtray. Until the last day the father of the family drove us back to the gare station. We have so much great memories of this place along the Nakasendo road.

さかのみち-sakanomichi ligger i Nakatsugawa og har et fælles opholdsområde, restaurant og bar samt gratis wi-fi overalt. I'm afraid my words will not be enough to express how much I loved my stay here. Kenさん and Yukiさん were extremely welcoming. I enjoyed my conversations with them, learning about Magome-juku, umeshu, and many other things despite my very lacking Japanese skills. When it was time for me to leave and embark on my hike to Tsumago-juku, they ran after me to give me a bottle of iced water to help me with the summer heat. I almost teared up from their kindness. I was on a solo trip for my birthday and they gave me the most memorable moment of my trip. Other things to note about this guesthouse: Room: I'm not sure about the other rooms but I secured the best one. It had an amazing view of Magome-juku. There is only a futon but it was very comfortable. The room is air-conditioned and although not sound-proof, Magome is quiet and you can hear the peaceful sounds of water flowing through the canals at night. Shared spaces: The shared spaces include the dining area, living area, toilets, showers, and an indoor bath. There is also a laundry area which you can use for a small fee (about 500 yen if I'm not mistaken). Reception is not 24/7 and the lights out is at 10pm I think. The shared spaces are not only clean, but they're also beautifully designed! Lots of dried flowers as decoration. Meals: You can opt to have dinner and breakfast here again for a small fee. Dinner is Indian curry and let me just say-- it was delicious! I had the spicy chicken keema, although personally I wish it was a bit spicier. The homemade yogurt was simply amazing. Breakfast is a simple spread of eggs, bread, yogurt, cereals, a variety of fruits, and drinks such as homemade juice and coffee from the coffee shop down the street. This was again very good and I enjoyed it more than I expected. I feel like Magome is a one-time destination because of its size, but I definitely want to come back and stay at sakanomichi again!

GUESTHOUSE YANAGIYA ligger i Magome-distriktet i Nakatsugawa, tæt på Toson Memorial Museum. Her er gratis wi-fi og vaskemaskine. Denne lejlighed ligger 7,7 km fra Otsumago og 9 km fra Kotoku-ji... Great location and very friendly owner.

Guesthouse SHIGI ligger i Nakatsugawa, 46 km fra Gero Station, og har en have, et fælles opholdsområde og gratis privat parkering. Overnatningsstedet ligger ca. It’s an entire house and very big! Full of antiques and curios, and very near the station. The bakery next door opens at 8am for the best breakfast, don’t miss it. The supermarket opens at 10am till 6pm and there aren’t many restaurants around :-). Gold base to explore the Nasenko trail as you can do day trips, I wish we had done that instead of moving everyday, you can take the train to the stations where the tracks start.

Only one group stays per day -Tenmaya-家族や仲間と貸し切りゲストハウス 天満屋 ligger i Nakatsugawa, 7,9 km fra Mt. Ena Weston Park, og har en have, et fælles opholdsområde, en bar og gratis wi-fi. It was very spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. It was right on the Nakasendo, so great for starting the Nakasendo hike.

ゲストハウス岐阜羽島心音 Guest House Gifuhashima COCONE ligger i Hashima og har gratis cykler, have, et fælles opholdsområde og terrasse. Pensionatet har gratis wi-fi og ligger ca. All great, friendly staff and a nice clean place. Great value.

Guest House Hinode ligger i Takayama, 2,6 km fra Takayama Station og 4,8 km fra Hida Folk Village. Her er gratis wi-fi, aircondition, gratis cykler og en have. Everything seemed clean and the rooms are super pretty
