A lovely Guest House with very kind and welcoming hosts. The rooms are lovely Japanese rooms with tatami mats and futon mattresses, which I found very comfortable. The shared men's and women's toilets are close to the rooms and very clean. The shared kitchen and dining, lounge are is great too, allowing you the option to cook your own meals and catch up with others. There is a men's and women's public (shared) bath area. A lovely hot bath to relax in after the day. It is small, and while I was there I was the only one in it each time I used it, but could seem a little cosy if there were a few people using it at the same time. There is a private bathroom and shower too. The japanese breakfast and the evening resturant meal with their hand made soba is incredible. Absolutely loved staying there a day would definitely stay there next time e I'm in hakuba. Location is a 3 minute walk from the shuttle bus terminal in happo.

We stayed for two nights here. The owner is so friendly and the atmosphere is so good. Breakfast is included and very delicious. Although it’s not that close to the JR Station, there are a lot of restaurants nearby. We will definitely come back.

This recently renovated guest house is located 40 km from Nagano Station and 41 km from Zenkoji Temple. The guest house features family rooms. The house was warm, spotless clean and provided generous amenities. The rooms, though typically small were well arranged so we had enough hooks and hangers to put our ski and winter clothing in order. Best of all were the two hosts and their helper. They were friendly, helpful while in the same time maintaining their Japanese politeness manner. We had breakfast and dinner in house ( pre-booked ). All meals were delicious, thoughtfully and beautifully prepared. Baby chan made every one laugh, brightened up our days !

If room with futons on floor nice light and warm. Insence bathing was cool but be aware there is no seperate shower.

A free shuttle is available from JR Hakuba Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away and must be reserved at time of booking. Forest views are available from the 2nd floor of the accommodation. Love it. Super friendly hosts who helped us a lot, offered to pick us up, take us to hire gear at echoland (with discount at affiliated store), take us to deliver our luggage and send us to the station upon checking out. Booked restaurants for us too since we didn't have a local phone number. Thank you so much! Great accommodation, very cosy and nice atmosphere, vending machine inside, 2 onsen rooms (one of which has an outdoor onsen too, very nice in the snow) which can be used privately by booking each day. Drying room for ski gear is very convenient. Short walking distance (<5 min) to free local bus stop to goryu, happo, iwatake and also to echoland base camp for the hakuba valley shuttle. Buses only run a few each day and finish pretty early, best to not miss the last one as getting a taxi can be a pain! Breakfast needs to be booked by 10am from the previous day, but it's amazing, highly recommended.

Just 10 minutes from JR Hakuba Train Station on the free shuttle(14:30-21:00), Hakuba Skala Inn features a cosy lounge with a library, a bar and a wood-burning stove.

Hakuba Skala Inn has both Western rooms and Japanese rooms, which have traditional futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. All rooms are heated. Osamu and his family were super nice, helpful and welcoming. The inn had a very cozy atmosphere with a nice little bar. If you visit here, make sure that you try their own plum wine. Good facilities for skiers also! The breakfast was super good. Thank you Osamu for taking such a good care of us!

Three of us stayed here for 5 days. We had the best time! The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable with great facilities, including a storage area for all of our ski and snowboard gear. There’s also a bus station right down the street that takes you to Iwatake (which you can then transfer to another bus that takes you to every resort.) The best part were the owners — they were so kind and welcoming even though we did not speak Japanese. They cooked us breakfast and dinner and both were so delicious. We highly recommend and would definitely stay again! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay😁
