Buchoho no yado was exactly what I needed during the busy New Year festivities. It was quiet, peaceful and I could enjoy the facilities at my own leisure. I was able to do laundry, cook meals, relax in the lounge or in my room. It was ideal. It was perfectly located for shrine visits as it was just down the street from Hachimangu Shrine. It is a short walk from the bus centre, about 10mins from the train station by bus. The room was Japanese style and very comfortable. Mattresses and futon are available so be sure to confirm which will be available in your room before your visit. 😊 Bicycles are available to use too. I did not use them during my stay but which was a nice offering! I would love to visit Morioka again and would definitely make a booking with Buchoho no Yado again. Thank you so much!

Everything was spotless, and they have a time-slot system for the shared bathroom so that it's easy to use. The breakfast was also delicious. We only stayed one day, I wished we had stayed at least one more. The staff was very kind and agreed to store our luggage on check-out day so that we could go to Geibikei gorge hassle-free. Geibikei is an easy 15-minute stroll from the guest house.

She was very thorough with showing the amenities and helpful with making sure we didn't leave anything behind.. i felt like I was at my grandparents home <3 I also loved that they had books you could borrow, a family bath style onsen inside that you can lock for privacy and it came with shampoo, conditioner and body wash for the shower. Everybody in my group really loved this place and hope to come back soon!
