My family had an exceptional time at Guesthouse Soi. They went far and beyond to help us with everything. My kids can't wait to go back there!

Perfect new hotel, the room was big for Japan. We had an amazing view of the pagoda from our room. The stuff were amazing helped us to send our luggage and to reserve restaurants for the rest of our trip.

Walking distance from several famous shrines and temples, and a lot of local eateries within walking distance as well. Great beer just down the road too. Host is extremely helpful, friendly, and responsive even late at night. Was extremely lucky to get a room here during peak season considering they have a total of only four rooms. Rooms here are also more spacious than many hotels I've stayed at in kyoto and Japan in general. Will definitely come back!

The hosts at guest house Fujiya were really kind people who really want to make your stay comfortable and filled with great experiences. They went out of their way to give us many tips to travel in the Gion area during the Gion festival. The house is squeaky clean, with comfortable bedding and a very homely vibe. The location is perfect, you can walk to the city center in 15 minutes.

They went out of their way to make us feel at home, and even cut us fruits to eat when we go back from a long day of exploring Kyoto. Very central location yet quiet enough away from the main street.

Location is in a residential area, making it a quiet respite after a whole day of sightseeing, while still being conveniently close to the center. Breakfast was also tasty and kindly brought into the room daily. Emiko-san and her family were very welcoming and accommodating. She even gave me a ride to Kyoto Station on my last day and always checked on me daily to see how I was. Very kind family. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit!

The house has been restored as new but keeps its traditional soul you feel like going back on time in the Edo period. The owners were so kind, patient and welcoming that I felt like home in Japan. The private room is impeccable with a touch of modernity. I wish to come back and stay longer for more discussion and sake! Arigato !
