I really loved the log house I stayed for 2 nights. I felt so cozy and comfortable. I loved everything about it. Place is so peaceful , surrounded by mountains. I had a good rest and recharged here. Owner was friendly and very kind. Only about 30 min from Takachiho shrine, sightseeing area by the car. I will love to come back again!

Very close to the beach, great if you want to surf. The family that runs it are incredible, super welcoming friendly and informative about the area. It is provided everything so I didn't have to worry about towels or toilet supplies. Also coffee and tea are free. The whole place is tidy and neat. And the view is the most beautiful I've ever seen. On the other hand, I have to highlight the kindness of the owner, she was so helpful. Definitely I'd stay again there, it worths it.

Such a beautiful place to stay! Harry, the farmer, built it himself as well as the Japanese/American farm homestead. It is a beautiful place to relax in and children can run around the property safely so you feel like you can spend hours in this space and not have to be and about all the time. The wildlife is incredible here! On our walk around the property and down the track to the river we could spot so many frogs and crabs! The river is like it’s from a fairytale, with pebbles and fresh running water. Our kids caught shrimp, fish and crabs which they took back and made habitats for with containers from the mud kitchen. Oh I must mention the mud kitchen, which apart from being beautifully designed, kept the kids busy for hours. We could sit outside on the veranda, enjoy the nature and keep an eye on them. Ryoko cooked our breakfast and dinner for us which was absolutely beautiful food. The kids loved it too!! Highly recommend adding on breakfast and dinner!! Ryoko and Harry were both very accommodating and lovely, down to earth people (with great style and taste!). Harry gave us directions to the perfect small wave beach for our son to practice his surfing. There is an onsen very close by (10 minute walk), we went one a bit further away however and it was beautiful. This is a must stay in my opinion!

Yuko was very hospitable and the room provided was very comfortable and clean. Her home cooked food made from her homegrown ingredients are superb. We can tell she is passionate in the food she makes as she mixes flavours to achieve a really delicious taste. We also enjoyed a time of boardgames after dinner in her cosy living room.
