The bedding was comfortable and the breakfast was sumptuous. The host was was thoughtful and when she noticed my young child was not eating much of the food, she prepared another sandwich for her. She also made an effort to share the stories behind some of the figurines she gave the kids using the translator. We had a great time!

This accommodation has everything you might need. There were all the cooking utensils(rice cooker, several pans, fridge, Japanese cups and plates etc). The room was spacious and spotless clean. Kunisaki peninsula has so many beautiful pilgrimage trails, I would recommend this place for anyone who is interested to explore Kunisaki peninsula. Also only 30min by car to the famous Beppu area. Will definitely come back!

Fantastic location just off the main street and facing quiet river side lane. The onsen were so lovely we went as often as we could! Very homely and welcoming!

We loved this apartment! Everything is brand new, the beds are comfortable, there is a table with chairs to eat or work, comfortable bathroom with hot shower (and bath) and a great balcony. It was very quiet and just a short walk from the station. Highly recommend staying here!

I stayed in a beautiful, nearly 200-year-old house in the historic center of Usuki – full of charm and tranquillity. The host, Ai, is the most wonderful person: warm, attentive, and speaking excellent English. The apartment above her craft shop includes a cozy workspace, a bedroom, and a private toilet and sink. The bathroom downstairs is modern and exceptionally comfortable – the high-tech shower, with its talking display and mysterious functions, was a memorable experience in itself. Ai not only showed me the house but also introduced me to the neighborhood – traditional shops, a small sake brewery, and many hidden corners of the district. She took a lot of time for personal conversations, and through her I learned so much about Japan and daily life in Usuki. The people in the neighborhood were incredibly welcoming; I truly felt like part of the community. This was a unique experience that no other accommodation has ever offered me.
