The owners, a young couple with child, were really friendly and always supporting. The room on 2nd floor was tidy and clean. All equipment, bathroom, free coffee and tea were impeccable. The first floor was a stunning, private library and at the entrance they run a cosy caffee with self baken scones and cookies and spirit, if you're keen on in the evening. Local friends and customers gathered there, always a pleasant option to get in contact with locals or having a refreshing chat. The value for money is top notch, so is the atmosphere.

The futon heaters were great and definitely needed when a cold wind storm blew in!

I was travelling with a bike, they were so nice about it and made so easy, which I was so grateful for. The dormitory was very comfortable and clean. The shared bathroom/toilet were kept super clean and tidy. The common space was very friendly and tidy, with a shared all amenities kitchen. It felt very at home! It's a very cute and homey vibe guesthouse! The area has a lot to offer too, would highly recommend staying there!

This is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in Japan by far, and this was my 5th trip to the country. We booked the traditional Japanese room and it exceeded our expectations tenfold. It was super spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished. The host Hanneke was so lovely and helpful as well. I could have stayed for a month! Arita is a beautiful town well worth visiting if you have any interest in ceramics.

Very pleasant house, the room was nice, beds were clean and comfortable, and the shower was large. The kitchen was clean and well equipped, and we cooked dinner there. Ask the owner about the artwork inside the house! She also made several recommendations for places to go, landmarks and a cafe to visit. We went to some of these and are glad we did! She also assisted with a translation issue to help make a doctors appointment, and generally was just so welcoming. Other residents were very friendly and we enjoyed chatting.

It was a wonderful place to return to after a day of adventuring. I felt at home.
