It has a super cool vibe with a cozy working space filled with personal touches, perfect for relaxing or catching up on any work. It was designed by the owner and you can see the personal care behind it. Bunks in dorms are clean, spacious and super cozy with the wooden aesthetic. The staff was so welcoming and generous, it was great to be able to meet them as a solo traveller and made it feel like I was staying with friends. Walking distance to train station and large supermarket only 10 mins away. I wish I could have stayed longer and I will come back here if I come back to Shikoku.

The owner is really sweet and welcoming 💗 everything was extremely clean and comfortable and it was in a nice quiet location. Felt like being at home! With laundry, a well supplied kitchen, and even a comfy living room It’s a perfect spot for Pilgrims! But I think everybody else would love it too

Situated in Akano, 47 km from Mannou Park, Cosmos Guesthouse Iya Valley features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and express check-in and check-out. The property has mountain and quiet street views, and is 48 km from Kotohiragu Shrine. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, free shuttle service and luggage storage for guests. Thankfully the staff came to pick me up in the evening because it's so dark and if you don't know the area, it can be hard to get there, so definitely keep communication with the place. It was quite easy to find other spots once daylight came and all at walking distance. The valley is amazing and I imagine lively during summer and warmer times, for the autumn is quieter but still great nature and interesting sightseeing.

Featuring a shared bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer, certain rooms at the hostel also offer a mountain view. Everything! The house is beautifully designed and we loved that it's different than most Japanese guest houses. It's lovely to have such a modern and cozy concept in a small town, away from the crowds. There is actually a lot of charm in the town and it was one of our favorite stops on a month-long trip to Japan. That is also because of Alrik, who manages the property. He was so kind, hospitable, and friendly! We felt welcomed as friends, not just hotel guests. He did everything we could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. There is a beautiful forest around, the view from the top of the town is lovely, so is the walk by the river and sunset. The Shinto shrine was such a special experience too! Thank you, Alrik and Next Chapter for this beautiful stay! We will come back to the area just to visit the guest house again, especially if Alrik is still running it!

Loved the food, the hospitality, the view, the nature sounds at night... The room is spacious and we couldn't wait for early mornings to drink coffee on our very own terrace. The hosts are very warm and friendly, full of helpful tips about surroundings. We have been in Japan for 20 days, from Tokyo to Osaka and this place along with Shikoku has definitely been the highlight of the trip. Much needed escape from crowds and super charged civilization. If we ever come back to Japan, Sorayama guest house is the one place we are sure to visit again.

The whole place has been cleverly thought of to ensure a practical stay and provide for every guest's needs. The lady of the house is very friendly and charming. All this for a very reasonable price.

For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. This is a lovely spacious apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and even a deep hot tub to soak after a long day. The apartment was extremely clean. And the owner is very helpful and easy to contact. While I don't expect people in another country to speak my language, we were very happy that the owner spoke excellent English. We liked it so much we are coming back again after our pilgrimage around Shikoku.
