Hiro is a fantastic host, along with Marie, his lovely dog. He was very helpful and gave us really good recommendations for food and he was kind enough to accommodate any of our needs. The whole experience of the traditional Japanese house, with the amazing onsen and the futons is really worth it. Another plus is that the house is isolated, which made our staying really peaceful and quiet. Matane!

It is like coming home your the parents. She even took us back to the station with our huge luggage. Staying at her house is not so much about luxury or amenities. It is more about being well taken care of. Location wise only 8 minute walk from Tobu Nikko station so a good base to explore the area. Good price quality ratio.

Garden Nikko Guest House nằm ở Nikko, cách Ga Tobu Nikko 9.1 km, Đền thờ Nikko Toshogu 11 km và Thác Kegon 28 km. The apartment is located on the ground floor of a two-story condo. There is parking space right in front of the building if you need it. The apartment is quite big compared to Japanese standards with one traditional, tatami-style bedroom and another regular one with bunk beds, a main dining area with a kitchen, a spacious bathroom and separate toilet. The tatami room is gorgeous with a beautiful Japanese-style table and floor seats and quite comfortable mattresses. Everything was spotless clean, the kitchen is fully equipped, the bathroom has all the amenities you would find in a regular hotel. There's a washing machine and a dryer which you can use for a few hundred Yen on an honor system. The host, Akihito is extremely kind and helpful. He sent detailed instructions on how to find the apartment, and was greeting us in person when we got there. You can pay by credit card, which is a huge convenience. He also surprised us with a handmade gift, a fridge magnet he made himself. We appreciate is very much, thank you, Akihito! It's about a 15 minute walk from Shimo-Imaichi station and according to Google Maps about the same distance from JR Imaichi station. A very quiet neighborhood, we literally haven't seen anyone around. There is a rather large 7 Eleven about 3-5 mins walk away, and Akihito also provided us with a detailed map of the nearby restaurants. All in all this was one of the best places we had the pleasure to stay while in Japan. I would highly recommend you stay here if you visit beautiful Nikko.

This was our second time staying at the inn. Of course, the owners, Satoshi and Elizabeth remembered us and were just as friendly and helpful as our first visit 2 years ago. Satoshi remembered that we weren’t able to find a soba restaurant open on New Year’s day the first time and did research to find one for us. I was so touched by his kindness. There is a new lovely shared bathroom and many new interior design pieces. I’m still in love with the open air bath that can be reserved. It’s such a relaxing, friendly inn with lovely owners. I highly recommend it.

The host was super friendly and nice, the meals were very tasty (both dinner and breakfast), and the atmosphere was really calm & relaxing. We also enjoyed the private Onsen. The location is great - just near the lake and only a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. Great value for money!

We came to Nikko to explore the nature and we were lucky enough to get just that. The place is near the lake and the bus station, the room was spacious and had everything you'd need. The true value however is in the host Takeru who really helped us a lot with recommendations of what to see and do in the vicinity.
