It was a quiet and comfortable location. The room was very clean. The owner of the accommodation was very nice and could communicate with guests through translation software. In addition, the owner’s cooking skills were very good. We enjoyed rich and delicious breakfast and dinner. Highly recommended this accommodation to everyone.

Its a nice, calm corner in the outskirts of town. perfect for getting away from the big city. The owner and his family are more than friendly and accomodating, would recommend.

Dù tôi đến muộn so với giờ hẹn check in nhưng họ vẫn ra tận cửa chào đón. Chúng tôi đã trao đổi rất nhiều câu chuyện trong đó chủ trọ có giới thiệu rất nhiều điểm tham quan và onsen trong vùng nhưng rất tiếc tôi không có cơ hội kịp tham quan vì thời gian gấp rút. Quán trọ cũng vắng vì dịp này khách không đông, tuy chỉ có một mình ở trong nhà trọ nhưng tôi cảm thấy thoải mái và dễ chịu như ở nhà.

The owner made a great place for travelers, everything is written in English and is very convenient. The house is old and beautiful.

We spent three wonderful days in Hirosaki, a charming and authentic town that still feels untouched by mass tourism. It was refreshing to explore a place where the pace is slower and the culture feels so genuine. The absolute highlight of our stay was Guest House Chara, run by the kindest elderly couple, Fusao and Toshiko. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home—it wasn’t just a place to sleep, it truly felt like staying with family. Their house told a story, filled with warmth, history, and the little personal touches that made it feel lived-in and loved. From the amazing homemade breakfast to the delicious ramen dinners they prepared, every meal was made with care and love. The guest house is conveniently located, just a short walk from a supermarket and a laundromat, which made things really easy for us. This personal, welcoming experience truly made our trip special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful, off-the-beaten-path experience in Japan. ありがとうございます

Uchi Matsushima Guesthouse tọa lạc ở Matsushima, cách Sendai City Community Support Center 23 km và Entsuin Temple 5 phút đi bộ. The owner is incredibly kind, and we really enjoyed our daily conversations with him before and after exploring Matsushima. The facilities were clean and pleasant, and the guest rooms are located on the first floor, while he and his wife live downstairs. The location was perfect, and the owner was very helpful with recommendations for places to eat, things to see, and other tips. A special thanks goes to him and his wife on our last day, when we had to be evacuated due to a tsunami warning. They took care of us and brought us to safety further inland. They made sure we stayed informed, drove us around to find food, and helped us find a place to sleep for the night. This experience truly reflects their warm hospitality. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are in Japan. (If you are into music i believe you will enjoy seeing his record collection) crazy 😁

Fantastic location, right on Uwanodai slope - actual ski-in ski-out. Host was extremely friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was great and good value. Nice draught beer! Shower in room with a shared hot bath that could be booked for free. There's a ski/boot room in the basement that opens onto the slope. The decor is a bit dated but in a very charming way.

This place was a true sanctuary during my two-month journey. I originally planned to stay just a short while, but it felt so peaceful and welcoming that I ended up extending my stay. There was so much to explore in the area. I discovered the three sacred mountains of Haguro, Gassan, and Yudono, part of the Dewa Sanzan, and I wanted to experience them all. The traditional accommodation was simple, beautiful, and full of charm .Bus stop and great food spot just across the street. I truly didn’t want to leave. What made it even more special were the two amazing women who run the place with such kindness and care. I felt at home from the moment I arrived. I will never forget my time here.
