The host was wonderful - so helpful and so willing to communicate by means of phone translator. She organised us a taxi to Mt Gassan 8th station. Food was fab. Hope to return to do more of the local pilgrimage routes. Mt Kaguro is on the doorstep.

They treated us like family. They picked us up from the bus station, drove us to a wonderful dinner location (which they recommended), drove us to the ski resort, and helped with all our luggage. I was so happy to meet them and talk with them. The room is just as warm as the owners. The floors are heated and the beds are very comfortable. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

Facilities are amazing! They have a huge fully-equipped kitchen with gas stoves, free tea, coffee and condiments. The hostel is located in a refurbished school which it looks like to be also a community center, there are other business in the same building; pizza restaurant, cafe, gym etc… never seen any place like it! The hostel walking distance from the station, Lawson, drug store etc… If you want to travel to Ginzan Onsen this is the perfect location and an affordable price.

I thought it was pretty comfortable and the room was quite big. For the price, I think it is really good but it is quite an old house and tough to get to. But I was very grateful to the host, he drove me all the way to the station for no charge as I had lost my wallet and he let me sleep in until whenever I wanted. He was a very lovely man and I hope he gets a lot of business!
