House of an artist ( artists assemble) It feels like chilling in an art gallery, like a hug to the soul. Very spacious and very clean. A fully furnished kitchen with very beautiful antiques. Quiet and peaceful. The place has a very beautiful aura, just calms your nerves. The host? I haven't been hosted anywhere else like she did.She made sure we got the right directions to the place.Made sure to remind us of safety as we traveled to the place( We got there quite late). And checked to see if we arrived safely after our trip. She's such a professional. I have found my go to haven every time I will be in Mombasa. We did not want to leave 🤭. Our stay at this beautiful property was absolutely amazing! As beautiful as the pictures are, they don’t even come close to capturing just how stunning this place is in person. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the gorgeous surroundings and the peaceful atmosphere. The home, the pool, everything exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, Susan made us feel so welcome with her warm hospitality and attention to detail. Robert was great and helped us feel at home the whole time. The pool area was perfect for relaxation, and everything was spotless and well maintained. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

Super friendly team and eclectic mix of international guests and conservation volunteers to meet eating together at breakfast, lunch and dinner (if needed - they were very relaxed when we ate elsewhere or arrived late). Lots of fascinating chat. Basic rural-style rooms, good WiFi, working fans and a really special atmosphere. Church service option onsite on Sunday morning and lots of activities (they helped us arrange boat ride to snorkel and see dolphins, and we were dropped on the stunning beach outside afterwards). Sea swimming in minutes every morning. Delicious home cooked food - a whole red snapper one evening, and pancakes every morning. Cynthia, Betty and the team were a total delight even when only there for a few nights (some stay for months).

Our stay on Manda’s side at Mangrove House was truly wonderful. The location is unmatched, the peace and quiet are absolute. The staff is wonderful and so is the owner, super attentive and ready to help and share. The house is right in front of Shela and Peponi hotel, just a short boat trip away. Would absolutely go back, and recommend it to everyone going to Lamu!

It was really a very special and unique experience to stay at Blue Monkey. Everything is simple but well thought through, so I wasn't missing anything. The solar panel allowed to keep the phone charged even though the place is not grid connected, showering with the bucket is no problem. Ismail is the most friendly and helpful host you could imagine. He showed me the village, helped organize a snorkel tour and had a lot to tell about the history of the place and the village. Wasini island is stunning with coral reefs, mangrove forests, dolphins swimming nearby. Overall, highly recommended!
