This was a 5-star hotel service. Monika and her crew provided an outstanding experience. We spent two nights at Retro Kampot but we wish we could stay more! We rented a scooter from them on a very reasonable price (6 usd/24 hours) and visited Bokor Mountain (lovely one day trip). They let us use the kayaks for free, so we did the beautiful loop on the river. Every time you sit in the common area, you are served with water and fruits. The food they are cooking is super delicious. This is definitely the place to be if you visit Kampot!

We really enjoyed ourselves here, the location is good especially if you like being out of the craziness of the city centre like we do, with the mountains close by.

You can play billiards at the guest house. We had a lovely stay and extended it for multiple nights. The owners/family are kind, welcoming and helpful. Once again well presented and clean - great help: assisting with bookings, scooter rental for only $7 a day directly from the Guesthouse. Laundry $1 per kilo, ready on your door the next day - great location: close to the main area but is a quite spot - amazing team looking after, run by a family. Very lovely and helpful Negative: Nothing to do with the Guesthouse itself. The bloody trumpet at 5am from the nearest military base it is incredible annoying. It goes on for 30 min. I feel bad as this can bother many guests and turn them away. But the place it is so lovely and deserves to be booked every day for the amazing effort they put. Thanks for having us 😀

At the guest house, the family-friendly restaurant is open for dinner, lunch and brunch and specialises in African cuisine. The family that owns it are warm and welcoming, and well organized. Very easy to communicate. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and surrounded by beautiful landscaping. Three meals a day are possible here, so being a little away from the city center is no problem. It is an easy tuk-tuk or motorbike ride into town, and Hidden Oasis has a motorbike available for rent.

I can't express how great this place is... i enjoyed my stay a lot! Not only was the room super comfortable but Mr Leng and his wife are also amazing hosts!! Their hospitality is beyond great, they're so genuine, helpful, incredibly kind and literally have the warmest heart! It realllyy felt like home! Oh and there's a nice rooftop with a bar as well, Mr. Leng makes the best cocktails!!! You guys are going to LOVE IT! I can't recommend this place enough

There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Kampot Train Station is 3.3 km away and Teuk Chhou Rapids is 11 km from the guest house. Dickens , the owner, was most helpful and polite. I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay at Ta Eng Guesthouse and wish I had stayed there before. The location is in a quiet part of town and around a ten minute walk to the Durian roundabout. I would like to thank him for all the drinks he gave me as part of the Chinese New Year festivities !

(A great 'investment'..: long term ) The room is spacious, clean, all facilities in excellent condition. Wi-Fi? Excellent ! Kong is always available for ANY issue that arises. None did ! A/C/,fridge/kettle/good supply of teas and coffees , tuk tuk to town, upon request..: motor scooters for rent. Lots of 'storage' spaces...practical areas used in the room,for this reason. (2)..Breakfast is included...Kong is very 'flexible' about the time that suits his guests ..and a very generous breakfast it is.. Kong goes out of his way to make your stay memorable..I'll always remember him as a gentleman. He comes with lots of experience in 'running' a guesthouse...as a result..: any traveller will NOT be disappointed. (3)..:" Value for Money" ? Probably the best I have exerienced in several years in Sth East Asia. He could charge more...: it would still be great value . Location is a quiet side street...5-10 minutes by tuktuk/scooter to Kampot itself. When renovations on the restaurant are completed in about a week ...: improve "Kampot Origin " even more. I'd not hesitate to stay again and not hesitate to recommend to any and all travellers to stay. I wish him all the deserved success which he ,through his attitude/politeness/hard work/.....: will achieve ...that's for sure !
