Set in Colombo on a private peninsula by the banks of the historic Diyawanna Lake, Aathma Colombo House provides accommodation with a garden. This was the first stop in our Sri Lankan trip and We weren’t quite ready to brave the hustle bustle of Colombo, Athma house was perfect for that. A small escape where you could admire the city lights over the lake while nestled behind a jungle shield. However central enough for you get out there if you want to. The owner of the property was our highlight. A fabulous well traveled woman with a warm welcoming energy. Her mission to make us feel at home. The interior was a feast for the eyes. Authentic and eccentric. The property was originally built as her home and it still feels that way, lived in and full of soul. Our only regret is we didn’t stay longer. We stayed for one night and would recommend a minimum of two nights.

Located in the suburbs of Colombo city, 55TG Boutique Suites offers an authentic home stay experience in a two story 1920's period house with a garden, outdoor pavilion, living room and a lounge. Beautiful clean room. Staff were delightful and helpful. Breakfast was delicious (had both Sri Lankan and non Sri Lankan options). A bit out of town but we thought absolutely worth it. Would stay again. Loved it and didn't want to leave!

Friendly staff and comfortable rooms and nice breakfast. They when out of their way to help and suggest places to eat and see while in Colombo. Max the dog is great too

It was extremely clean, the vegan food (Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner) was excellent. I came from Kandy, but apparently the place is easily accessible from the Katunayaka airport via the highway.

Away from the crowds of Colombo, the spacious room and antique charm gave me a fantastic rest after exploring Sri Lanka’s capital. With all the qualities of a classic hotel I could enjoy style and comfort while maintaining the privacy of home.

It’s really spotless with all (shared) amenities you would ever need for a short stay: immaculate bathroom, kitchen, living room etc. I visited Colombo to extend my visa only to I discover that immigration was closed for public holidays.. this place was such a relief. The owners are super helpful too. Highly recommend it. 🤗
