The place is pretty, well maintained, and clean. Nice vibe to chill. All the staff is super friendly and welcoming. I appreciate the guide for a quick intro to the town, restaurants, and surf spots. I also appreciate the board with upcoming events around. Makai is at a ~6 min walk from the main street and in front of a bus stop in this main street, convenient to go to downtown or surf spots. Even more convenient if you have a motorbike. Some of the restaurants nearby are good so you can just walk to get good food. Would recommend!

The place is beautiful and peaceful, very clean and the service is amazing. The manager and the staff make you feel super welcome and make everything easy and possible. Perfect location by the beach. Definitely recommend!

Alvas house situa-se em Hikkaduwa, a alguns passos de Praia de Narigama e a 17 km de Estádio Internacional de Cricket de Galle. Susanna and Tusharo (please excuse me if I’m misspelling the names :) were wonderful hosts. Welcoming and informative. It really felt like our own house. Spotless clean, equipped with everything a traveler needs, beautiful nature around, a garden well kept. Another great thing is the hosts really care about animals and Tusharo shared fascinating information about the connection local people share with the sea turtles (we got lucky and swam with them). The beach has some great surf. Would love to come back and stay more.

The hosts were incredibly kind, helpful and attentive throughout our visit. They made us feel very welcome and at home. Breakfast was a real highlight: generous, varied and prepared with great care. Every morning we enjoyed a delicious and beautifully arranged meal — a perfect start to the day. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful seaside getaway with warm hospitality and excellent service. We would definitely come back!
