The location is ideal—close to popular spots like Lion’s Rock and scenic hiking trails, making it perfect for exploring the region. One of the highlights of our stay was the fresh fruits offered during breakfast, all grown on their own land. It was such a treat to start the day with such delicious and natural flavors! The manager was incredibly attentive, always stopping by our table or greeting us when we passed by to ensure everything was perfect with our stay. This thoughtful attention made us feel truly cared for and welcome. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the villa was so peaceful. If you're looking for a cozy and hospitable place to stay near Sigiriya, Sunshine Villa is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

Nice fresh juice on arrival. Better than the pictures! Very nice new AC, great bathroom with hot showers, really good mosquito nets with elastic edging. Set well back from the lorry and bus filled busy main road with really nice views across to the hills, was very tranquil. Can sit out the front of your room or there was the covered eating area with dartboard. Re-opened 7 months ago and the new owners are doing a great job. Included breakfast with fruit, toast and eggs. Would thoroughly recommend this place if staying in dambulla, great value and as mentioned before, away from the busy main road.

The property offers great value for money, with all the necessary amenities and a peaceful atmosphere. It's also conveniently located to explore the nearby attractions. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in Dambulla!

Madhu and Sanjee were very welcoming and nothing was too much bother. The room was to a high standard and had everything you needed, including a fridge which was very handy. Breakfast was huge but very tasty and we also ate dinner there for all 3 of the nights we stayed. In all honesty, Im not sure where else we could have eaten in the local area which was at the same quality as Madhu and Sanjee's cooking. We went to the top of Pidurangala rock for an extra fee at sunrise which was well worth the money. We also paid Sanjee for a transfer to Kandy which was at a reasonable rate. Both Sanjee and Madhu were perfect hosts and really lovely people. The one thing I would say that I have found throughout Sri Lanka is to check costs before agreeing to things but that advice goes throughout and everything additional we paid for we felt was worth the money.

Hungry Lion has a great vibe and is a nice place to relax. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, assisting us with managing our time between activities during our stay. The breakfast was excellent, with generous portions that set us up perfectly for the day. Highly recommended!
