It’s very close to the national park and the hotel can arrange the safari they have their own jeep for the safari which is very good price and you can choose the time you want to go it’s very flexible. The hotel is facing a jungle forest it’s really beautiful and all rooms have this view. There is lake at walking distance to enjoy and also the elephant transit home (elephant protection organisation) is at walking distance to visit. The host is cooking home food for breakfast and diner and it’s really nice very fresh amazing food and amazing sense of hospitality. The hotel also organises trips around they have their own taxi car which is much better than drivers you find outside.

After changing our plans and coming to Udawalawe a night earlier than planned (and in need of some luxury), this place was exactly what we needed. The hosts were so friendly, the buffet dinner was delicious and great value and the swimming pool was amazing. They organise safari for us with easy and served breakfast on return. The rooms were well sized and comfy. Would 100% Recommend!

Located within 16 km of Udawalawe National Park in Udawalawe, Forest Edge Safari Villa features accommodation with seating area. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk and parking on-site. Room - comfortable, big, with a nice ensuite and a serene patio overlooking a forest. Staff - very friendly and accommodating, and quick to respond to any requests on WhatsApp. Safari - I joined the Safari attached to the hotel and can recommend it highly. The driver was excellent at identifying wildlife and was often first to see rare animals. I did two tours: 4h one afternoon and 6h one morning. Both times, the guide was excellent. He has a deep respect for the wildlife and the animals and this really comes across in his tours. He even invited me to dinner with his family afterwards which was an honour and a treat - thank you!

The guest house features family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. Wonderful place to stay to enjoy Udawalawe Park owned by a welcoming couple. The bungalows are large, clean, and beautifully constructed. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the evening and showering in the outdoor waterfall shower. We were greeted with tea and cake. Dinner is spectacular vegetarian Sri Lankan cuisine. Go for the tours offered by the hosts as well. They are great. We did a 4 hour morning safari and saw many elephants, often without other jeeps around, as well as loads of birds, plus water buffalo and a crocodile. All in all, a wonderful operation. Perfect one night stop for your time in Udawalawe.
