The whole stay was just amazing. The cottage itself resembles a countryside home vibe and the owner is the most friendly and welcoming person. He arranged us a great full day safari, which was also nothing less than amazing. We then had dinner at the property, the owners family prepared wonderful Sri Lankan curry with rice. Everything about this place is worth it!

This is the most incredible family run hotel, I cannot praise it enough. Located just down the road from the National Park so it's the most perfect resting spot either before or after a Safari. You cannot really describe the tranquility and peaceful ambiance of this hotel, it is incredible! The rooms are immaculately clean, really comfortable and well presented. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful and were so kind and friendly to both us and our children. The hotel has a fantastic pool which is the perfect place to cool off in the afternoon. The food is some of the best that we have tasted whilst travelling Sri Lanka, completely delicious and freshly cooked dinner and breakfast. The value for money is excellent and you get the feel of high end at a really reasonable price. I'd say that this hotel is a must stay whilst visiting this area. We plan to return on our next trip. We stayed two nights and did the half day safari, which we booked through the accommodation. We couldn't recommend this place more highly; our room was beautiful (the nicest we stayed in Sri Lanka) and the safari itself was great. Air conditioning,large bathroom etc.The food at our accommodation was incredible - we had breakfast, lunch and dinner on both nights, which we were able to eat in the comfort of our terrace. The people here were absolutely wonderful and looked after us very well during our stay. We highly recommend staying at this place if you are visiting Udawalawe!
