Firstly, the location is in a bit of an industrial area, so it feels a bit grungy and the sidewalks are broken. But the hostel itself is fantastic. It has a pool, a nice kitchen, good places to hang out. And the rooms (although some guests like to use their phones without pods or headphones) are great. Private. Shower was really good. And the rooms are nice and cool. Staff were really nice as well.

I knew this place would be next to the mangroves, but I did NOT expect the mangroves to be right next to the open-air common area outside our room! And there's a short 1-2 minute walkway through the mangroves, leading to the river where you can go kayaking and even waterbiking (though there's only one bike). What a beautiful experience to sleep to the sounds of nature and wake up to the birds chirping. I also saw some strange possum/lemur-like animal climbing through the trees while I was having breakfast!

Dominic, the guy taking care of the place, is really cool, empsthetic and very helpful. knowledgable of places to go etc. The room was clean, so were the bathroom and the kitchen. Plenty of space to chill out at - the pool, the kitchen/common room, the terrace. Its also possible to rent a scooter there, for a reasonable price.
