But apparently it is a place where I want to come back. The rooms and service were good, but as a traveler my expectations are quite low and I don’t really pay much attention to such things. What always matters more to me are the people, warm conversations and the shared experiences. And I got exactly that! In such a short time, I was leaving the guys as if they were my friends. Bobby is an excellent, caring and friendly host,he picked me up from the bus stop, waiting patiently as traffic held us up. A ride on the back of his motorbike to the hotel was great fun! Room spacious, double and single beds, wardrobe, chair and table, several power points, clothes stand. Directly outside the room is a wash basin, shower room and toilet next door, plus kitchen with kettle. Each guest is on a seperate floor, so very private. Sat up on the roof terrace in the sun one morning too. Central position, 2 minutes from Durbar Square, plenty of local shops including a supermarket next door to the hotel.

Buffet and continental breakfast options with local specialities, pancakes and fruits are available. At the guest house, the family-friendly restaurant is open for dinner, lunch and brunch and specialises in American cuisine. Helpful and lovely staff, super location, clean, delicious breakfast.

All units have private entrance. Guests can grab a bite to eat in an outdoor dining area at the guest house.

Sightseeing tours are available within a reachable distance of the property. A car rental service is available at the guest house. Second time stayed here, as great as ever. Cool person in charge always in answering my query without miss. 24 hours hot shower, clean bed, and necessary amenities are just around the corner. New paint and decorations making the space more warm and uplifting. Still the best in its class in Swayambu.

Guests appreciate the convenient location and scenic views. The hotel is on the edge of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and our room looked directly out to the old palace and temples. Our view was gorgeous. When we wanted to go exploring, we could just step out of the hotel and everything was walking distance. The staff were extremely helpful. In fact, there was a glitch in the Booking.com app where our itinerary, inexplicably, did not match the hotel's. We got a bit anxious and stubborn because we had transcribed our intinerary based on our trip listings in the Booking app. But the owner very patiently asked us to sit down and figure it out, and we were humbled to find that our schedule was mixed up. We were able to sort it all out, because we were taking a side trip to stay outside of town for a night, returning to stay at Shiva House again. Shiva House stored our luggage while we were away. Also, the food in the restaurant is excellent. *There is a restaurant right next door as well, with a beautiful garden courtyard, worth checking out. We hired Myla (not sure of the spelling) to drive us to many sites, which was a great help. Everything is easy walking distance from Shiva House, and we loved that we could walk back and take a break at any time.
