Absolutely Exceptional Stay – 10/10! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a gem! The location could not be better – easy parking right by the property, just a pleasant stroll into town, perfectly situated for exploring the entire island, and conveniently close to a large supermarket. We always felt completely safe here, which added so much peace of mind to our holiday. The cleanliness is simply impeccable – everything spotless and fresh, every day. The entire place is beautifully organized, with a layout that makes it feel both spacious and homely. The kitchen is especially well thought out: each room has its own assigned table, cupboard, and set of plates, utensils, and cooking items, which keeps things wonderfully neat and easy for everyone. And then there is Catarina – what a host! She is truly the heart of this place. Warm, sincere, and full of genuine care, she puts her soul into making her guests feel welcome and valued. She visits daily to tidy and refresh the common areas, replace the flowers, and, more often than not, surprise guests with delicious homemade or local treats. She is thoughtful, adaptable, and always ready to help – whether it’s offering great local tips or simply checking in via message to see if we needed anything. We felt so looked after and appreciated her kindness enormously. The property itself feels like a peaceful haven – quiet, comfortable, and infused with warmth and charm. Everything here has been designed with the guest’s comfort in mind, and you can feel the love and pride that goes into it. We travel often, but this stay will remain a highlight for us. If you’re looking for a spotless, perfectly located, safe, and beautifully run accommodation with a host who truly cares, look no further – this is the place! We would return in a heartbeat.

The staff were wonderful, warm, welcoming and delighted to answer questions, offer services and suggestions, invite us to enjoy the evening fire, recommend activities etc. we thoroughly enjoyed everything about our time at Solar Dos Cantos.

Boasting a lift, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The accommodation features full-day security and a housekeeping service for guests. This accomodation was a stunning little hidden gem in the centre of town, a short walk from the port. Our room was large, extremely clean and aesthetic. We had two amazing Portuguese tarts waiting for us in the room upon arrival which was a really nice gesture. There was also a mini fridge to store our snacks. The breakfast was outstanding and the hospitality of the staff was wonderful! We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this accomodation to everyone.

The house itself is both historic and fascinating - an oasis in the city centre. The rooms are comfy and modern. The breakfast was very good. And the hostess went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend!

Nice, spacious and comfortable room. Warm welcome on arrival and throughout our short stay. Dedicated parking area. Nice selection for breakfast. Excellent value. Would stay again.

The guest house offers city views, a sun terrace, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. Bed is comfortable. Private bathroom is huge. The host is very attentive and helpful. Daniel helped me with taxi when I was in the middle of the island.

All units feature air conditioning and a satellite flat-screen TV. With a private bathroom fitted with a shower and a hair dryer, units at the guest house also feature free WiFi, while some rooms are fitted with a terrace. At the guest house, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. We stayed for 2 nights at City Stonehouse in a room on the 2nd floor and loved it. The room is airy (high ceilings, big windows), spacious with wooden floors and very clean. The en-suite bathroom was extremely clean and very well equipped (multiple towels were offered to use but it was stored in a way that one could also save towels, refill soaps, hair dryer etc). The room itself was beautifully furnished - nice bedding, arm chair, hangers etc. and offered some refreshments and snacks :). Downstairs was an extremely well equipped kitchen with everything one needs to cook a delicious meal. Indoor as well as outdoor seating areas were inviting. The ground floor offers a living room with plenty of information about the island and tour possibilities. Luggage storage on our departure day was no problem at all. Check-In was as easy as it gets. The location is great - easy to reach from the airport, walking distance to the center, marina, parks, restaurants and shops. There are several car and scooter rentals close by. The biggest benefit of this accommodation is the wonderful host who spoils his guests by providing lots of information, answers all possible questions, sends out recommendations and makes sure one feels 100% relaxed on vacation.
