The woman who ran the place was so kind and friendly. She let me check in early (I'm sure it's not always possible) and she gave me restaurant recommendations and told me a bunch of places to go see that were walking distance around town. The room was well decorated, comfortable, and modern. It was great to have a desk. The bed was really comfortable, so if you like beds that are a little soft, this was a good one. The shower was really good. There was a shared kitchen for guests to use, and even though I didn't really use it, it looked good and if I was staying longer, I would've made a few meals. The fridge in the kitchen had individual trays for each room so you could put stuff in there and keep yours separate from everyone else's, that was a nice touch. Overall this was a really fantastic hotel and I would definitely stay here again if I ever get back to Sao Jorge.

The rooms and bathroom are clean, comfortable, and well-kept, offering full privacy, while the shared kitchen and terrace are spacious and thoughtfully designed – perfect both for relaxing on your own or, if you feel like it, interacting with neighbors. Everything is tastefully decorated and modern, and the kitchen truly feels like home. A lovely touch – fresh eggs and fruits. The town of Urzelina itself is beautifully maintained, with a scenic and well-developed cycling and walking path along the coast that stretches almost all the way to Velas Airport. Overall, we really enjoyed São Jorge Island and will definitely return.

The facility is comfortable, clean and cutely designed. You’ll meet a small group of friendly and adventurous travellers who also love Nature! Would love to come back and stay longer!

The accommodation is next to the port and has an amazing view not only in the town but also on Pico! We had an amazing time at Antonio's! The staff is super nice, the place is cute and everything was thought to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

We had a very nice time at the home of Ruis, and we only wish we could stay longer. The house is very clean, the room we booked comes with a nice private bathroom, and we could also use the kitchen. The hosts waited for us at the port, as our boat was late, explained the most beautiful points on the island, and helped with our car rental, and found a taxi for the faja hike we did one day. In the evening we had very nice conversations with Rui the uncle, while listening to the most fantastic cries of the cagarro birds flying above our heads and the nearby rock - it is one of the most memorable things from this island. The house is 15-ish minutes walk to the center of Velas, as well a big supermarket. The whole town is very safe and pleasant. The island is very beautiful, with some dramatic scenery, and our most honest advice would be to stay longer on Sao Jorge, if possible. The faja hike is one of the most pleasant and enjoyable hikes we have done.

I spent 6 wonderful nights at this exceptionally clean and peaceful accommodation in São Jorge. The room was cleaned every single day, which I truly appreciated. This is a family-run place, and the hosts are incredibly kind and helpful. Emanuel, the husband, was especially supportive – he helped organize my hiking trips around the island, provided transportation to and from the trails, and even took me to the airport at the end of my stay without asking for anything in return. If you're looking for a quiet, spotless place with genuinely caring hosts, I highly recommend this place. I would definitely stay here again!
