We had one rainy morning in which we read our books in the sitting room area, which was cozy and quiet. The breakfast was very nicely appointed as well. We had the family room, which was larger than we needed, but allowed us to spread out nicely. We would have liked to stay for longer!

For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. Alice is a wonderful host. She was very helpful with organizing transport to the Caldeira. She also offers to do laundry for free, which I found very nice. The house is on the hill, offering a nice view on Pico and surrounded by a well-kept garden. The walk from the harbour to the house is a bit steep. I considered it to be a nice workout but for some people it may be easier to reach with a car.

The location was fantastic, relatively quiet, but only a block off of the main street/marina, and also closes to Porto Pim. The room was beautiful, spacious, a lot of character, and has a great view. Our hosts were very friendly, welcoming, & provided great guidance for maximizing our stay on Faial.

Then there was the view from the dining/lounge room overlooking the bay with Monte de Guia and Ilha do Pico in the background. Each morning we relaxed on the balcony as we had our coffee and listened to the surf gently rolling in. This was all highlighted by the friendly and attentive staff which were there during the daytime hours. Location was perfect with a short walk to the middle of town and the marina. Free street parking (residential area) was available right at the front door. Never an issue.

Very nice location in the city, nearby some nice restaurants and a bar where you can have breakfast. If you want to cook there is also a kitchen in the house. The terrace on the roof has a beautiful view over the sea/bay. Even the Beach is just around the corner where you can go for a swim. Towels are arranged. The host is very helpfull. Staying at Mar Rosa is highly recommended.

We had luck in having the available room at the highest floor, overlooking the marina and Pico. Definitely would return and stay here again.
