P.Y. Guest House is 200 meres from JEATH War Museum. It offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and free drinking water. The guesthouse has very nice and original decor decor and furnishings and the rooms are very nice and comfortable. It is also within walking distance of both the bus and minivan station and the train station (although the latter is half an hour's walk away). The owner - a local woman - is very helpful and forthcoming, and she's also one of few communicative Thais with a genuine interest in foreigners that I came across on my two trips to Thailand: once I even asked her to call a bike rental shop to let them know that I would return the bicycle I was renting from them later than agreed, as unfortunately I cannot speak Thai, and she kindly obliged. Not to mention that her husband was twice kind enough to give me and other guests a ride to the minivan and bus station so that I did not have to pay for a tuk tuk.

The owners are incredibly helpful, thoughtful and easy going. They do the extra for the guest experience in a genuine way. They showed me the surrounding areas, temples, landscapes and nice restaurants. If youn want to be a bit outside of the city and have a real thailand experience this is the place to be. You can also get to the famous waterfalls and nature park with the bus not far away. I will think back of my time there with joy.

Very central..book in early no problem or big story.. central to restaurant s..and had it's own spot..great pool.. overlooking river is the resort.greatstaff.30 minutes walk to train..or motorbike taxi. Situated within 1.8 km of The Bridge of the River Kwai and 2.1 km of The Jeath War Museum, Siam Guesthouse provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Kanchanaburi. I am a solo traveller visiting Kanchanaburi for the first time to experience the ANZAC Day service at Hellfire Pass. I decided to book a three-night stay at Siam Guesthouse. When I arrived, I knew I had made the best decision to stay here. The location was perfect to visit all the historical places, the bridge is 2km walk and if you are into nightlife then is 10 mins away. The room and the bathroom were clean, free coffee and tea were provided, and fruits were available upon arrival. If you liked a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, the place had all you needed, and it was right in the middle of all the necessities. The best part of the stay, as this is a family-run business, was Nung and his mother, who were very helpful and ensured that their guests were looked after. They can organise and advise if you want to arrange tours at reasonable prices. If you love animals, you will meet Harley, a beautiful one-year-old. The place had a lot of birds, and there were also fish. Vegan/Vegetarian Travellers—Nung suggested On's Thai Issan, which has reasonable, yummy food with great servings. It is a 10-minute walk from Siam Guesthouse.

The location was central for walking, but away from the busy street so very quiet. The facilities were extremely clean and comfortable. We loved the comunal area for eating. It was a beautiful view of the river. We booked a double with a fan and we were so happy to have operable windows with screens. The fan was perfect, not too loud and very efficient. We hardly needed hot water because the weather had us wanting cold, but there was an easy to use hot water system for the shower. Free refillable drinking water, coffee and chocolate in the morning was also deeply appreciated. The hosts were available if we needed anything but left us to do our own thing. They really respected our privacy in their space. The value was perfect for what we received. One of the BEST stays we’ve had on Booking.
