All units come with a terrace with pool views, a fully equipped kitchen with a toaster and a fridge, and a private bathroom with walk-in shower. A patio with an outdoor dining area and garden views is offered in all units. At the guest house, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. I love everything about the property, very close to the village where you can find supermarket, restaurants, and any other kind of tour that I was looking for. 1min walking to the beach , not packed beach and with very chilled vibes, perfect for couples and families. The rooms are beautiful and comfortables, details oriented. Pool just for us anytime we wanted , and the fact that they don’t do the cleaning everyday for the climate impact we found it very ecological and nice, something that we appreciate.

The air-conditioned guest house consists of 1 separate bedroom, 1 bathroom with a hair dryer, and a seating area. Guests can take in the ambience of the surroundings from an outdoor dining area. The guest house offers bed linen, towels and housekeeping service. Everything was just super: breakfast outside, staff, Michael the manager, swimming pool, the whole enviroment. It was about 200m from the beach. We used to go through a narrow street with local Masai-owned souvenir shops. The AC did not work one night but was fixed very quickly. The fridge did not work but that was not a problem.

At the guest house, units have a outdoor furniture. Each unit is equipped with a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, while some rooms are equipped with a terrace and others also offer sea views. At the guest house, all units are soundproof. We arrived at Mama Ruth’s with a small group of friends, and from the very beginning, we were taken in by the peaceful surroundings. It’s a perfect place to relax and unwind. If you’re planning to explore other areas, you’ll definitely need to take a taxi, as it’s almost impossible to get anywhere on foot. That didn’t bother us at all – taxis were easy to find, and we were able to visit many beautiful spots nearby. The rooms are on the smaller side, especially if you’re traveling with large suitcases – there’s not a lot of space for luggage. However, everything else was truly wonderful. We added breakfast, lunch, and dinner to our stay, and every meal was delicious – freshly prepared and full of flavor. One of the best parts is that the villa is located right by the sea – there are no streets or obstacles between you and the water. Just step outside and you’re on the beach. The owners live on-site, are incredibly kind, and go out of their way to assist guests with anything they need. It’s a place full of warmth, hospitality, and genuine care – we would absolutely recommend staying here!

À la carte and vegetarian breakfast options with warm dishes, local specialities and pancakes are available. Guests may eat in the on-site restaurant, which is open for dinner and lunch.

The area is popular for cycling, and car hire is available at the guest house. For several reasons, we had to postpone our stay at Mango Beach House, in Jambiani, three times in the past. Finally, 2025 was the year for something long awaited. The expectations were high, but the reality surpassed them. A dream spot, right on the beach. The facilities, the outdoor and sea temperature , the sound of the crows, the breeze and the waves, the laughter of the children at night playing football on the beach, the food (delicious breakfast and wonderful meals), the friendliness and availability of the hosts made us wish that it could be our 'forever home'. And the truth is that during our stay we felt that it was also our home, thanks to the warm welcome from Beth, Dhula, our extraordinary chef Hemé (don't know how to spell it) and all the rest of the staff. There was also the opportunity to do some additional activities suggested and organized by Beth, namely a boat trip in typical Dhow, through the beautiful waters of Jambiani, as well as an unforgettable Mangrove tour, which ended at sunset, in a vibrant atmosphere in a bar in Michamvi. Each room here will provide you with air conditioning and a terrace. Private bathroom also comes with a shower. The hosts, the food and the service were exceptional. Helwas is a small family hotel with a great, friendly atmosphere and top accommodation. We were group of 5 and we had amazing time at Helwas! The Amka Guesthouse consists of two building complexes and is privately managed.

Guesthouse No. 1 has five different rooms and one apartment in various categories, ideal for singles, couples, and backpackers. This place was beautiful! We loved that it was set back from the beach so it was quiet, yet we had easy access to the ocean and we had a wonderful view of the turquoise waters from our large covered balcony. The balcony was an extension of our huge and pleasant room. A delicious and plentiful breakfast was delivered to our balcony each morning. The owner was very kind! He allowed us to stay extra time, since our taxi wasn't arriving until after check-out time.

Located in Nungwi, on the quieter north east coast of Zanzibar, Game Fish Lodge is situated along the beachfront and features an in-house restaurant, bar and a sun terrace. Free private parking is offered on site. This place is really amazing. It’s like a little quite paradise not far from most overturist places in Zanzibar. The view to the ocean is beautiful, also you can swim in nice and clean pool and there is a sandbank nearby. If you want to swim direct you will need watershoes. In Game fish lodge you can relax in privat and enjoy nice atmosphere. If you like big hotel resorts, many people and activities at hotel, this place is not good choice for you! Actually we felt like at home there and it was because of the owners. Lesley and Colin are really special people. Very friendly, kind, with true passion to their job. They dont want only take your money, they really care about yourself and want to your holidays was perfect. We really apreciated so many good advices which we got, and also so many interesting informations about Zanzibar and living there. We definetely recommended to taste a delicious diner. Also the breakfast was very good included local fruits. The room was simple and clean with enough space. Unfourtunatelly we had a short time here, wish to come back one day.

Guests at Zanzibar House can enjoy both International and traditional Zanzibari dishes at the restaurant. I have visited Zanzibar before and stayed at a few hotels (large and small) and this is by far my favorite hotel, my kids and I did not want to leave. It was a hidden gem! The staff were very friendly, the owners were always available and very sweet and kind, the food was the best in Zanzibar. It’s a very quiet and lovely getaway. The beach felt like a private beach away from the overbearing Masai and tourists. The hotel was very cozy, authentic and unique. The rooms were spacious, the balcony was stunning and watching the sunrise every day was beautiful, AC was working perfectly, rooms was always clean and they clean twice a day. If you want to relax.. this is the place to stay! The owners and staff quickly became our family. Thank you for the most beautiful stay, we will be back again!
