In July 2024, we had the chance to stay in this extraordinary place, surrounded by nature. After traveling 3 km on a chaotic track, accessible only by 4x4s and SUVs, we reached Kukummi Lodge, formerly Mackaya Bella Country Lodge. Nestled in an isolated valley, this lodge is a true haven of peace, far from everything. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owners, Bryan and Danny, as well as Amina, our contact before the stay. Seeking to return to their roots, they left their previous life to acquire this property just a year ago. Their attention to every detail made our stay memorable. Located on the edge of the Mdedelelo Wilderness Area & Solitude park (Champagne Valley), the lodge offers superb hiking options. The landscapes are breathtaking, and each hike reveals new wonders. We enjoyed a sunny day hiking, guided by Danny who showed us the treasures of the region. We then explored the central part of the Drakensberg (Monks Cowl), and can say that this lodge is undoubtedly the gem among all those we visited during our stay. This lodge, particularly isolated, is ideal for those seeking to recharge and share special moments with the hosts. With only three rooms at that time, the experience is intimate and personalized ! As for us, we will return during our next stay in South Africa.

Localizado em Rosetta, a 43 km do Hilton, o Glen Ormond Country House disponibiliza uma piscina exterior e vistas para a montanha. My partner an I had a beautiful stay. Our little cottage was immaculately clean. Everything about the place from the outdoors to the interior was amazing. Great for an escape from a busy lifestyle. Our host, Jennifer was very welcoming and attended to all our questions. My husband and I also enjoyed visiting Chocolate Heaven which is around 10 minutes away from the property.

The location and view was absolutely stunning. There is so much to do in the area if you enjoy the outdoors! The accommodation was very spacious and the outdoor lapa area was amazing. Just wish we had been there a few day longer to experience better weather and swim in the pool etc.

Berghouse and Cottages is situated in a rural setting, high up in the Northern Drakensberg Hills, 30 km from Bergville. Free WiFi is available in each cottage. Fantastic property in a great location - breath taking views and exceptionally tranquil setting. Exceptional service and great food. We ended up enjoying our stay so much that we returned for another night a week later.

The place was unreal. So beautiful with the river rushing through trees. The bed was completely luxurious and the attention to detail outstanding. The biscuits given with tea were home made, as were the scented shower bombs - just amazing. I asked for a takeaway breakfast which Tanya happily provided which was delicious. One of the best places I've stayed in South Africa. Would 100% go back.

The Garden Manor encontra-se em Winterton, a 5 minutos a pé de Winterton Museum e a 17 km de Spioenkop Nature Reserve. Great hospitality. Comes with tea, coffee, fresh milk, bottled water. Place was so clean and so cozy. Fully equipped with a TV, wifi, air conditioning. Definitely great 10/10. The attention to detail was everything. From the little treats left on the bedside to the rusk biscuits which were so thoughtful. Super friendly owners. This will definitely be a place I would want to come back to.

It’s the perfect gateway spot for family or a group of friends. We had a great time over there. The caretaker, Mavis, made us feel so welcome. Tranquility-Ukuthula Guesthouse localiza-se em Winterton, a 15 km de Winterton Museum, e fornece acomodações com uma piscina exterior, estacionamento privado gratuito, um jardim e comodidades para... We loved this beautiful and private house with its magnificent views of bush, wildlife and birdlife. We especially enjoyed the glorious sunsets and stargazing from the veranda and had the option of doing so from the fire-driven hot tub. A fire pit is also located below. The owners provided wood for the barbecue and tub. The house has two very spacious bedrooms - both with bathrooms with tubs and walk-in showers - and super comfortable beds. The kitchen is big and well stocked with nearly every amenity including an ice maker. The owners warned us of a pot-hole ridden kilometre or so of road to the house, but it was easily nagivated with a regular car. The town of Winterton is about 10-15 minutes' drive and has a couple of stores if you run short of self-catering supplies. Wine and beer is also available in the house and payable via an honesty box. Details of trail walks and runs are also in the house for more athletic types. Cathedral Peak Wine Estate is 5 minutes away for wine tastings and food. Loved our stay!
