The River Loom is a fantastic place beautifully set in nature, immediately on a river bank and a stone throw away from the beach. The room was nicely decorated and had everything needed for a short stay. We particularly loved the garden and the terrace with all its beautiful plants! The host and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful! We came as guests and left as friends :-). Absolutely recommendable without reservations!

The property is clean, comfortable and relaxing. They even provide a living area with a sofa, table and plates etc for a nice place to have dinner. I have been unwell and the hosts went out of their way to get me medicine and even offered to call the doctors for me! Such a wonderful couple who have showed so much kindness and care towards us during our stay. Would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area it is great value for money and the hosts make it even better with their kindness and hospitality!

Where to start this review - so much I want to say ! We had a fabulous time at the lovely home of Senthil and his wife Aswathy. Our bedroom and en-suite bathroom and the common living space and kitchen outside our room were absolutely spotless , as were the sheets and towels . It was like walking into an oasis of peace and calm. There is only one other bedroom on our floor and one downstairs on the ground floor . The house is in a lovely quiet area surrounded by trees and is a great location from which to explore further afield by car (Senthil can organise a driver and itinerary for you) or locally by a short tuk tuk ride. We used Uber tuk tuks as they were easy and cheaper than others. Senthil and Aswathy could not have been any kinder or more helpful. Communication from the start was excellent. We kept messing around the dates of our booking and Senthil was extremely patient and accommodating. We came for 3 nights and stayed for 4 as there is so much to see and we didn’t really want to leave. Highlights were the temples, palaces and a day of treatment at the authentic Mitra Ayurvedic Hospital! Senthil managed to get us an appointment for the next day but I would advise asking him to book it for you as soon as you know your dates so you don’t miss out. Aswathy provided the most delicious authentic home cooked meals on request using only the freshest ingredients. We had 3 breakfasts, an incredible lunch and 3 dinners during our stay. All were delicious and the importance of food culture was explained at each meal. We noticed some reviews mentioned the sound of the planes overhead (as this whole area is quite near the airport) and we heard a few, some nights more than others, but it honestly didn’t bother or disturb us at all. We sleep with earplugs anyway. I don’t think they go all night but not sure as we were asleep! We can’t fault this homestay and will be recommending it to our family and friends. We hope to come back soon.

Everything was ideal. The location was perfect being near the Padmanabhaswamy temple, restaurants and so on. It also offered a quiet respite from the busy city as the location is on a small dead end road meaning very little traffic noise. Meenu was unfailingly helpful and kind, making the place feel like a home, and giving the name 'homestay' true meaning. The room was very clean, with a good fan and ensuite bathroom. There is also good reliable internet, and Aircon if you require. It was helpful having a kitchen for making tea and breakfast, and communal space for chilling or working. There was only one other guest around so it felt very spacious. All in all a great stay. Thank you :)

I liked everything, especially: - The beautiful setting, with views over the ocean (it really is in front, which is not the case of many properties even in Kovalam) and palm trees; I could hear the waves from my bed, as well as all the birds singing (I made many recordings) - The location, less than 30mn from Trivandrum airport - All the restaurants nearby (I recommend “the Lobster Pot” literally next door) and the other facilities not far (e.g. currency exchange less than 15mn away) - The advance communication with Mr Sachin (so reassuring when travelling) and the professionalism of Mr Dibhyajith on site (who made everything so easy, starting in with check-in – I could pay by card, which is not always the case in India) - My bedroom (201) with a very big bathroom, powerful air conditioning (which I only turned on for 5mn every time the room was getting a bit too hot), very good wifi signal and breathtaking views.
