Absolutely amazing stay in a stunning location! This place is a little bit of paradise - perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The views are incredible and the private sea access is gorgeous for sunbathing and sunset-watching. Ada the host is so friendly; she really goes out of her way to make sure that you're comfortable and have everything you need, and her breakfasts with fresh homemade honey and jam are delicious! 100% would stay here again.

This is an incredible place to stay, absolutely gorgeous setting & huge airy room which is beautifully decorated with clean toilet & facilities. The balcony overlooks the town of Maratea & has amazing views. This tops as probably the best place we have ever stayed in Italy, it truly exceeded our expectations! The breakfast is served just outside the bedroom in another private area & is delicious & fresh fruits, etc. Alina our host was very helpful & friendly. If visiting Maratea - don’t hesitate to book to stay here, we highly recommend.

The family/owners of the property came to pick me up at the station and gave me a lift to some attractions too. I was lucky to have the upper floor for myself in the first couple of nights . I stayed in Tramonto room which had everything I needed including an electric kettle. I moved into the Mare room when I decided to extend my stay for another couple of nights to explore San Nicola Arcella and visit Grotta di Acomagno to do a stone balance sculpture before closing time . Praia a Mare has a relaxing vibe in September. The locals are friendly and the train station is more functional than other Calabrian tourist destinations I've been to. I highly recommend Il Giardino Delle Rose for independent travellers who don't mind walking a lot but there's always a bike or a car to hire if needed be.
