The stay was super nice because the room/cabin I had felt like my own apartment and it was perfect to be so close to nature and do the day trips to Sinharaja forest (which the host organized for me) and everything was cared for like a lunch pack and super delicious dinner on request- and great food every morning anyways:)) all of the people working at Sinharaja rest were so kind and helpful! Unrelated to the host, just about the experience in the immediate area: The area around is like a village, then town with paddy fields and everyday life happening, no jungle, that’s only when you enter the Sinharaja reserve with a guide. But that’s the case for all stays in that area.

This place is really part of the forest. Sitting out on the patios you can hear and see animals trees, plants, lizards and fantastic birds. You can also walk the small roads for animal sightings and beautiful views. And still walk to town easily. Gihan and family are welcoming, kind and generous with their time. I went on 2 forest hikes with Gihan, as guide, and I saw and learned so much. He is very knowledgeable and committed to people seeing and understanding the value of the forest. The driver of tuk tuk that Gihan organizes is a superb driver who is also part of what makes this place special. The rooms are clean and comfortable and food is good and plentiful.

I would venture to say that this accommodation is a hidden treasure in the jungle. A great host with vast knowledge of the natural world! If I had to recommend what to visit in Sri Lanka, it would be this place! I look forward to my next visit.

If you are a nature lover,this is the best place you should be.....I spent some wonderful days at Rainforest Mount Villa. The view and landscape is something special-amazing - the villas are right inside the rain forest!!!! And the balcony on the riverbank it was something I really enjoyed. Sarath - the owner of this lovely place, its an amazing man, an excellent jungle guide, professional, generous, and very friendly. It was really nice days that we experienced and we felt right welcome. Finally, there were great tips for our further trip. When we missed the bus just a little, he even drove it miles behind him, so we still get him.

The owners were very nice people and we had plenty of space for the family with three kids. It's at the edge of the rainforest, and everything is green around the house. The breakfast was perfect, even my choosy daughter had good variety. We had a rainforest tour with the owner's father, and this little old man was the best choice we could make. He spotted all the animals on the way and simply couldn't stop explaining everything on the way, and finally we ended up having the tour two hours longer than planned. If you also go with him give our greetings to him. We would return any time.

Everything is great. Mr. Bandula, the owner, who is truly exceptional and a respected figure in Deniyaya town. If your plans include staying in Deniyaya for the purpose of exploring Sinharaja, he is undoubtedly the best and coolest guide out there who knows every single inch of Sinharaja. Their warm hospitality, home made food and the cozy atmosphere at Eco Villa truly make it feel like a home away from home. Highly recommended.

Sinharaja Forest Edge is situated right on the edge of the UNESCO site Sinharaja Rain Forest. The property offers complimentary transportation to the rain forest from Mederipitiya Village.

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to checkout later so we could leave our belongings in the room while we went on a tour. Pool looked great and the food was also great. Amazing location right at the start of the Sinharaja.
