All the shared areas were welcoming and our individual room was very nice, they even have a towel warmer in the bathroom. The location is perfect and the town is so quaint. We found out that we needed to make a reservation for dinner because there are only 3 restaurants we were told. We thought because the busiest season was over that we would be ok, but I guess not when the options are limited. Which makes sense. You check in for this stay is at red barn looking building across the street. When you check in she can make you a dinner reservation if you didn’t do so ahead of time. We ate at Narfeyrarstofa just 2 doors down. It was so cozy and the food and atmosphere were outstanding! We also paid extra to have them make us breakfast in the morning. It was well worth it! It was delicious and the presentation was picture perfect ! We had a great night in this picture perfect little town and it was a great place to stay before we headed to the westjfords. You can also take the ferry from here to the westjfords if you’d like.

Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. We had privacy but were easily able to access everything we wanted to experience. The views were incredible and we saw the Northern Lights from the deck!

Beautiful cottage with a fully equipped kitchen. They even had an egg slicer. You have a great view to the sea, the room was cosy and the water was hot. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

Located along the coastline, Við Hafið Guesthouse offers accommodation in Ólafsvík. Guests can benefit from free WiFi. Rooms feature either a view of the sea or mountains. We liked everything here! This is a great guesthouse, has enough bathrooms separated by male and female, big kitchen that has everything you need for any type of meal prep. Rooms have small sink, table with chairs and place for jackets. Easy self check-in, right next to the main road, bunch of parking spots, some food shops like pizza and similar that you can buy, Orkan right next to the building. We loved it here and would recommend 10/10.

This family run guesthouse sits scenically on the Snæfellsnes peninsula on Iceland’s western coast, and features views of the surrounding nature from all rooms, as well as free Wi-Fi. We really enjoyed our stay at Langaholt. Very nice and cozy atmosphere, comfortable room and good breakfast. We had also been lucky to see the northern lights from the hotel yard, which made it a great highlight for us :)
