The ideal location for photographing the aurora! Mirror like water in foreground, mountains in background, and clear 180 degree view of the sky. Got amazing photos right from their backyard. We will be back. Highly recommended.

Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. We had privacy but were easily able to access everything we wanted to experience. The views were incredible and we saw the Northern Lights from the deck!

Located along the coastline, Við Hafið Guesthouse offers accommodation in Ólafsvík. Guests can benefit from free WiFi. Rooms feature either a view of the sea or mountains. This hostel is a lovely place as it is very spacious, clean and modern. It’s located just at the beach. The view onto the sea is gorgeous. The kitchen is large, well maintained and fully equipped. The whole place is neat and tidy and very cozy. There is free parking. I will definitely come back :)

This family run guesthouse sits scenically on the Snæfellsnes peninsula on Iceland’s western coast, and features views of the surrounding nature from all rooms, as well as free Wi-Fi. This place is absolutely fabulous. We unfortunately had terrible weather when we arrived here, and were even stuck there for an extra day. We had to rebook an extra day and the staff was absolutely welcoming. Our addition day was arranged and they also helped us plan the next stretch of our drive because of the weather conditions. We were a big fan of the breakfast here: just amazing! On the second day, we also tried their elaborate dinner, which was no short of a WOW. My wife and the rest of the family who joined us are vegetarians and they too had plenty of admirable options. So all in all: we enjoyed the stay a lot! Had the weather been a bit supportive, we would have had enjoyed even more…
