The hospitality was impeccable. The host was always available for everything. Probably witnessed the peak of Japanese culture (with people being helpful in every way possible) here. The host (without even us asking him for anything) found that our shoes were wet after a trek put them for drying (on a drying machine) only for us to find the shoes all dried up the next day. Unbelievable. The location is walkable from the port and has house had everything you’d need. The kitchen and the shower was equipped with everything that you’d need during your stay. The house was small but very clean. Would highly recommend.

Yakunoyado Taguchi ligger i Yakushima, 12 km fra Shiratani Unsuikyō. Her er gratis wi-fi og værelser med bjergudsigt. Shigerou and Hitomi were very helpful in planning activities and factoring in the weather. The dinners were exceptional, and I enjoyed the local sweet potato shochu too. Easy to walk to the local buses and Shigerou was generous in offering to transport to and from the ferry port. Everything was so clean and fresh in the facility too.

The house is lovely, with a huge terrace and palm trees facing the sea. Makes you almost feel like you arrived - well, in Hawaii. But it is the hospitality which makes this place truly exceptional. We faced a sudden change of plans and they made a huge effort to help us re-schedule everything, and also recommended us things to do nearby. And, when the bus connections did not quite work out the hosts offered to drive us. 11/10 for the hospitality. The dinner was delicious and served in a lovely setting with some Hawaiian entertainment. We wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a wonderful, relaxing time staying at this charming and very comfortable accommodation that has a unique character of special interest to classic car lovers, like our son. All the facilities were top class and the owner was a true gentleman. Big thanks to all at Coco Garage!

She did her best to ensure every guest had an unforgettable trip including making a cake for one of the guests birthdays to making onigiri if you were doing a long hike.
