The interior of the hostel is fantastic, you could spend hours looking at all the decorations and talking about your favorite shows. Tosi was also an incredible host who went above and beyond to make my stay as special as possible.

The bedding was comfortable and the breakfast was sumptuous. The host was was thoughtful and when she noticed my young child was not eating much of the food, she prepared another sandwich for her. She also made an effort to share the stories behind some of the figurines she gave the kids using the translator. We had a great time!

Pension Yufuin prides itself on an outdoor public hot-spring bath featuring large rocks, that’s unique in Oita. It also offers a garden, a terrace and free WiFi at the lobby. There’re 2 private onsen room available. The bed room is big, clean and comfortable. The owner is very nice. The vibe in front of the hotel is really nice.

It is located near the main train station, market, eateries and a public hot spring. The landlady also runs a cafe on the ground floor and makes simple but delicious breakfast. I will definitely choose to stay here again when I am in this area.

This guest house is very special! We had a fantastic stay, due to the kind, well-travelled host (who made absolutely beautiful breakfasts btw), the beautiful home, and the location. We like off the beaten track places, and this was more like a homestay. The house is behind a small temple and is about a 10 minute to most places in town, but a 3 minute walk to a Lawson. We were in Yufuin during a surprise snowstorm, and the house was perfect --warm and cozy due to the space, super comfy beds, cat, and private onsen (which we took advantage of daily!) It truly was one of our most memorable and relaxing stays in Japan.
