We enjoyed the onsen with wonderful mountain and sea views as well as an ice cream gift after bathing! The host allowed us to drop off our luggae early which freed us to stroll around the temple nearby and the rest of Atami, all of the host’s recommendations! My friends and I used the common area often as it was filled with natural light and windows across the entire span of the room. The sunrise and sunset were beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay!

Please pay in cash or by card upon check-in. Guests under 12 years old are exempt from the lodging tax. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They gave a helpful tour of the place on arrival. The common space was clean and had lots of books to read or couches to relax on. The dormitory had lots of room with good curtains for your bed for privacy.

He even guided us in setting up our futon beds. The temple opened at 6am, and we were invited to join his 7am prayer service and participate in rituals like sutra copying. Before we left, he gifted us a meaningful Wagen Aigo souvenir and sent us off with blessings. This stay was a genuine experience of Japanese culture—highly recommended.
