The hotel is charming, in a wonderfully restored villa with quirky architectural details. The room was spacious, quiet and the bed very comfortable but the best thing was the staff who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and help with anything I needed, they were really amazing, particularly Phout who accompanied me to buy an extra suitcase. The breakfasts were varied and delicious with a great choice of local dishes. I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you are going to Luang Prabang.

A large, clean, comfortable van, and multiple times a day made it quite convenient. (Especially after a hot day, the AC in the van was heaven.) Breakfast was so good and having it on our atmospheric terrace, watching the slow boats drift by over the river, was an amazing start to every day. The grounds are such a vibe, with little shaded nooks to sit and relax. But what made Thongbay an absolute gem is the service. Not only are all the staff so kind and helpful, but Bouavanh at the front desk went above and beyond. She booked our train tickets for us, one to Vang Vieng and the other to Vientiane, and when we took an overnight boat trip to Nong Khiaw, she let us keep our bags at the hotel overnight and had them waiting for us when we returned. It's the unsurpassed service that makes Thongbay an absolute 10.

The hotel can also arrange airport pick-up, drop-off, and tours at very reasonable prices. This is a wonderful hotel for a stay in Luang Prabang, and I truly hope to come back again soon.
