Lakmali's home is a real paradise in the Sri Lankan jungle. The rooms are basic but very clean with comfortable beds equipped with a mosquito net. The garden is beautiful, you can see a lot of jungle plants and small animals, and Lakmali's family is incredibly kind!!! They make all things possible to make you feel at home and enjoy tasty food, as well as good company and peaceful moments. 200% recommendation 😍

Emerald home stay is run by a wonderful family who couldn't do anymore for you if they tried. They have four beautiful rooms next to their home. The rooms are brand new, only just built and are exceptionally clean, spacious and modern. The beds are huge and all bedding is brand new and so comfortable. The bathrooms are equipped with hot water and a power shower. The facilities are fantastic, including an electric kettle, flat screen TV and air con. After completing a Vipassana up the road I was searching for some luxury and Emerald home stay did not disappoint! I ended up extending my stay here and I didn't want to ever leave! Thank you so much to the amazing family who went above and beyond. Giving me lifts to and from the bus stand just to make sure I was safe as a female solo traveller. Greeting me of an evening with fresh juice and even bringing me a special breakfast of milk rice on new years day!

Very clean. Everything was new and it semelles amazing. The caretaker was very polite and cooked is incredible dinner. If you want to do the Safari, this place is perfect. We booked a Safari with getyourguide but you can also book directly with them.

Excellent location, few steps from the gate of the National Park! Room was very comfortable and very clean. Bed was super comfortable too and mosquito net provided. Air con was a welcome relief from the heat. Bathroom was also spacious and clean, hot water was great. The owner was the sweetest man, his nephew messaged to ask if I wanted dinner, I declined, but the owner knocked on my door to give me fruit and ice cream so I wouldn’t go hungry at night. So sweet! His nephew also provided me with a welcome drink and even took me on the safari. Highly recommend doing the safari with them, they were the most affordable and they really considered what animals I wanted to see and tried their best to find them. The breakfast, lunch and snacks were so good! I was very well fed! They were very accommodating to me and really put in effort to help me when my card had issues. I will definitely stay with them again.

The location was peaceful and picturesque and the family hosting us was incredibly warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to make us feel at home – truly wonderful! The meals they prepared were the highlight of our stay, with the best home-cooked Sri Lankan food we’ve ever tasted. An unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic hospitality and stunning surroundings.

The host Kalahara is kind and helpful and treats guests as his family.Nothing is too much for him. PROPERTY: Lovely homestay surrounded by trees and lovely garden.The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and airy. All the facilities like hot water, airconditioning, water pressure etc was perfect. BREAKFAST:Our breakfast was included and it was the best we had in Srilanka.Its varied everyday and its plentiful and very tasty.(SEE PHOTOS) We had 2 dinners cooked by his wife and they were delicious and generous portions. TOURS: Host Kalhara will organize tours at reasonable rate and his driver is a very nice person. we did a tour and driver was very patient and took us around paddy fields. An absolute haven close to the sacred city sites of Anuradhapura. Peaceful, set back about 75m from the road. Beautifully appointed rooms and a welcoming dining/reception area - exactly as shown in the photos on this site. What the photos do not reveal is the exceptional service and kindness of the owner and all of his staff. Nor do they convey the outstanding quality of the meals served. It is rare to find a welcoming home away from home as good as Golden Ray Villa and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The family is really lovely, they arranged for us everything we needed: from renting a bike to tuktuks and dinner and breakfast. Meals were amazing, here we had the best dahl we've ever had in a month.
