I was even upgraded with the better option. Slept in a tent. There was a mosquito tent in the bed also. So it was very useful. Even though the weather before my visit was very wet, in the tent it felt dry and comfortable. There was enough space in the tent and around. It was the feeling like living in small village. The owner was very friendly and supportive. It was amazing to meet other travelers and have meals and games together. We met there New Year’s night. Had a fire and played games till the midnight to go for the new year’s bonfire. I am very thankful. The stay was amazing and the island is also very beautifully. Real nature sanctuary. If I will be back definitely come here.

Allens home stay está ubicado en Jaffna, a 7 minutos a pie de Templo Nallur Kandaswamy y a 1,5 km de Jaffna Railway Station. Allen, as mentioned over and over in other reviews, is the best host EVER. This kind of people makes the difference when traveling like we do, where the main goal is to enjoy the culture and people, as much as the places we visit. Allen went way beyond expectations on helping us with whatever we may need (from train schedules, arranging a great driver for a day-long tour, giving us recommendations for local places, to taking his bike and buying us some cold beers after hours, or getting up to prepare us an unusually early morning breakfast to go, due to our very early schedule), overall making us feel like his true guests despite the commercial relationship. Well-travelled, Jaffna-native but with many years in Europe, Allen is the kind of person that you hope you have more time to get to know better, and that will remain as a highlight of any trip. The property is his own home, where you rent some rooms. It is a very quiet spot in a green and shady compound in a cul-de-sac, a great respite from some of the Jaffna frenzy. Located a quick 5-min. tuk-tuk ride from the train station, it is also near the main Hindu temple of the city, a couple of blocks away. The room we rented had its own exclusive bathroom, but crossing the living room. There was another room with a full private bathroom, not available at the time. The house has a quaint feeling, very cozy and clean. The AC in the room worked fine and it was very welcomed. Breakfast was great, abundant and tasty, prepared by Allen on the spot.

Perfect location just a few minutes from Jaffna town. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned. The staff were very welcoming and made my stay pleasant. They also served a delicious Jaffna-style breakfast. The manager personally picked me up from the railway station early in the morning and arranged an early check-in, which I really appreciated. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place!

Malabar home stay está ubicado a 3,2 km de Templo Nallur Kandaswamy y tiene alojamiento con wifi gratis y estacionamiento privado gratis. The hosts are incredibly kind. Adi let me store my bags at the homestay after I checked out, and even to take a shower when I came back to pick them up, which was lovely and meant that I could enjoy water activities such as the Keerimalai bath and the beach. Definitely get the breakfast (you can add it on once you're there). It's delicious and excellent value. The property is cute, with a pond built into the front walk (with fish you can look at 😍), an interior courtyard, and my room had an attached outdoor bathroom (with a roof and walls) that let in light while giving privacy, so I felt like I was in a private garden for my shower.
