The owner is amazing. He does anything to make you enjoy your stay. He helped us with bookings for very good prices. The breakfast at the balcony was the best breakfast we had so far in Sri Lanka. The WIFI connection was very good. We were able to stream movies. Location was great. Close to Sigiriya rock and also to several restaurants.

Proper toiletries were provided, unlike my other stays in Sri Lanka. The breakfast is really nice. Also, the location with respect to Sigiriya and Pidurangala is very very good. Only a 15 min walk from the Sigirya Rock's main entrance.

We had an observation tower above our room, which put us right above the treetops. Tasty food and very hospitable staff. You won't go wrong choosing tree trails for your stay in Sigiriya.

The room was very nice and cozy, with a cute balcony and a very nice view into the family garden. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. The free cooking class was also amazing. We learned so much about the traditional foods and culture in Sri Lanka. Wish we could’ve stayed here longer!

Kumari is the nicest host we’ve had on our journey so far. She and her family are really adorable and made us feeling at home straight away. The day we come back so Sri Lanka we’ll surely return even if it’s just to say hello. The food was so great that we still regret not having taken the time her kitchen class. We highly appreciated all the activities which she helped us to organise and her great transparency on how things work in Sri Lanka. Be aware that the lodge is not in the village itself but is very easily accessible with one of the countless tuktuks within 5-10minutes

Our family had the absolute pleasure of staying at Sigiri Arana in Sigiriya, and it’s safe to say we left with full hearts, happy stomachs, and unforgettable memories. From the moment we arrived, Sunanda, Samadi, and Randi made us feel like part of their family. Their warmth and hospitality turned their lovely home into a home away from home. The property itself is nestled in a peaceful, green location—comfortable, clean, and serene, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We genuinely wished we had booked a longer stay. One of the highlights was the early morning hike up Sigiriya Rock. Despite the 5am start, it was already bustling with other sunrise seekers. Sunanda kindly offered to take us, sharing interesting stories along the way. The panoramic views from the top were stunning, and the local wildlife—monkeys and birds—were all too happy to mingle with the tourists! We also visited Pidurangala Rock, just a short walk away (definitely bring shoes with good grip). And our jeep safari with Sunanda in his own vehicle was a standout experience. It was an incredible day seeing elephants up close, spotting monkeys, peacocks, and a range of wildlife. The kids absolutely loved the ride, and the thoughtful touch of snacks and drinks made it all the more enjoyable. Every morning and evening, we were treated to delicious home-cooked meals by Samadi, who is truly a fantastic cook. The variety of curries was astounding—some of the best food we had throughout Sri Lanka. We looked forward to each meal on the porch, sipping a beer, watching the wildlife, and chatting with the family about the day’s adventures and plans for the next. Sunanda is deeply knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife, and he’s always eager to share this with his guests. His passion for nature and community really enriched our experience. We left feeling incredibly grateful—not just for the amazing memories, but for the seeds from their garden, which we’ll plant at home as a reminder

We loved the stay where it was set - it was in the back of a house in a farm owned by a very warm family with 2 cute children. Very rustic and raw setting, exactly what we wanted. It felt like we are staying in a forest amidst the trees and forest life. The hosts are really lovely people. They were warm in every interaction. Every step of the way, they interacted very warmly with us and even dropped us at the town once for free. They dropped us back into the down at the time of check out. Provided delicious food even at short notice. The food was exceptional. I was blown away by the taste. We were served Traditional Sri Lankan meals for Dinner and Breakfast for 2 days. We loved every bit of it. This is exactly what we missed during our previous stays and was extremely satisfying and gratifying to eat tasty and local food from a warm family. We also loved that a young girl from the hosts family explained us the food of what it is and how we should eat them prior to our meal. Very cute! Bathroom was really good. We loved that there are many plants inside the bathroom. We strongly believe that many Indian families (especially couples) will love this stay.
