From the minute I arrived at the home stay I felt instantly welcomed. The owners are incredibly helpful and arranged a safari and cooking class for me. The son Praneeth then was my driver for the next few days and it made my trip perfect. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, and the welcome drink yum. The room is super comfortable and clean and has a mosquito net and hot water! The home stay is also the walking distance to lion rock which makes it super easy to get to. I cannot thank everyone at Saman Home stay enough for making my trip so memorable!

Make sure you try some of her cooking for the dinner as it’s better than many restaurants we’ve tried. Also, she will help you organize anything from a local tuk tuk, Safari to a taxi ride further away! Thanks so much for having us!

The garden is beautiful and Harsha was a gracious host. We had a delicious and very filling dinner for 1970 Rs. Harsha showed us the local native plants in the garden that they use for cooking. The location is close to Sigiriya Rock and even has a view of the rock from the dining area.

I loved sleeping in a forest-like environment. I really missed it, and this treehouse was a lovely stay in that regard. The noise/sounds/music from the forest at night is the best. We really enjoyed everything: the treehouse, the view on the rock, the Loris tour at night, the breakfasts/lunches/dinners, and the simple but clean facilities, the safari... Make sure to discuss with the host about the different activities you can do around the rock (time, price, etc.). The host will help you out the best that he can, including dropping you at 5am at the bottom of the rock if necessary! Very kind family, business encouraged, I would come back there 100%.

The villa is nestled just 400 meters from the main city street, surrounded by lush paddy fields. The beautifully maintained garden is filled with vibrant plants and flowers, offering plenty of cozy spots to relax—whether in a hammock, at a dining area, or playing table games. Being in the middle of nature, you can expect the delightful sounds of wildlife, including peacocks. It truly adds to the charm of the place. One of the highlights of our stay was the Sri Lankan food. The meals were not only delicious but also generously portioned. I highly recommend skipping outside restaurants and instead asking the staff to prepare dinner for you—you won’t be disappointed!
